at some of the horrible points made.

1. Kobe himself is a chucker no doubt. However I'll take the 6'7 more efficient chucker who can post, who gives me more on defense, and who wasn't basically useless once he lost a step.

2. Stop with the "he carried" the Sixers to the Finals narrative. The East sucked. The team was full of top notch defensive players and AI's job was to just chuck. Everything just broke right for them that year. They got bounced in the first round the next season. AI chucking was great for that one year but it wasn't a formula for extended, consistent success. How many times did he even make it out of the first round after that?

Iverson benefited from playing in a trash Eastern conference

And how was AI the best player in the league? All he did was take the most shots?(and brick most of them)

He shot 38% in the 01' playoffs

It was clear by the end of the Conference playoffs who the best guard In the League was and that was Kobe Bryant

A.I is still my favorite basketball player after Jordan but come on it's not a comparison anymore I may not really like Kobe but he's still in the league considered one of the top 3 to 5 players in the league meanwhile Chuck is somewhere downing a bottle of Grey Goose,stealing checks overseas, getting kicked out of casino's and paying child support.

From 97-03 I would give it too A.I but Kobe perfected his game to the point people compare him to the g.o.a.t

if A.I would have modified his game, worked on trusting his teammates, took better care of his body, practiced

he may still be in the league now.




On a side he wasn't a jack like some of ya'll make him to be but he didn't make anyone around him better or worse either. A.I was a stats guy and his stats were amazing aside from the :eh: shorting percentage still one of the greatest to ever play the game but he's not in the league anymore for a reason.

I'm cool with your assessment because its right. As long as we keep it thorough. In the early part of the last decade, AI was that dude.

Webber was on his last legs. Iggy's a bum now, he was a bum then.

I think if AI had a really strong post presence, like a Garnett or a Duncan, his career would've turned out differently.

In Denver, he was putting up 26ppg on 45% with 7-8 dimes. That's Russy & Rose's production now. AI could've played the point if he put his mind to it, he just had nobody worth facilitating to.

He averaged close to 3 steals a game a few seasons...

AI shot better from the 3 back then...
