I realize that I can mess with some of the drumless stuff, just have a few ground rules:
- track should be 2 minutes or less
- should at least have some bass going on or progression beyond a 4 bar loop
- should be interspersed with drums in an album setting not just back to back joints like that
It sounds to me like you actually CAN’T mess with some drumless stuff. You got quite a few ground rules there lolI realize that I can mess with some of the drumless stuff, just have a few ground rules:

I like some drumless shyt like Aethiopes, Ka stuff, Ransom Directors Cut 4, most of Al's stuff but that Earl album was terrible sorry lol
Lol maybe you right. And those are just general rules that I tend to prefer but I'll listen and give it try if a lot of heads on here and elsewhere are recommending. I'm trying to get more into it but a lot of it isn't for me.It sounds to me like you actually CAN’T mess with some drumless stuff. You got quite a few ground rules there lol
Do you consider these songs "drumless?" I find the term a bit ambiguous because quite a few rap songs that lack drum kicks still use snares.I kinda hate drumless rap songs, with few exceptions.
Drums have always been a part of hip-hop. From beating on the lunch table. Cats wasn't making weird ass ambient sounds and shyt like "ok, go in".
