No pressure...clean pocket he gets skidish for no reason. He takes unnecessary sacks but he's highly effective in the short passing game. That's all he is. This is all he'll ever be. This is what you're getting. He's been doing this shyt since he was drafted. Trust me. I've watched this dude since we drafted him 1st overall
Loved him against the Bills

So is this the chiefs last stand, more so Andy’s i mean, because i feel like that buys him built in excuses, to save his job, for Alex he’s probably got two more years left, so this leaves the redskins right back where they started this makes no sense

That grammar slaughter :picard:

Same here. This dude been stealing money! When you’re mediocre and still get to keep your job for ove a decade then you will have seasons like this past one which was an outlier. Son is what he is. Mediocre QB that is loved by analysts because he’s such a great guy.

Best of luck Washington. :mjlol:

And not only they're saving like 17 MILLION.... you getting rid of someone who has a habit of turning the ball over. Cousins had 13 INTS and 13 FUMBLES last season! Smith only had 5 INTS in the entire season including the playoffs. He made the pro-bowl. He's way more efficient. If you needing a QB what other options are out there? Wait to see what the Vikings are going to do?

Lex does not turn the ball over. That’s good. But if you watch how he plays ou will understand why. Overly conservative and downright scared at times. Cousins as overrated as he is is a different QB. He has to win games, Alex does not. Cousins has to take those chances. On top of that look at Cousins production the last 3 years. Blows Alex out the water. Pro Bowl means nothing. This was the only season he was deserving of it and he got in as an alternate cuz Brady was in the SB.

You want to win a SB? Wrong QB. You want to be competitive and not improve then he’s your guy.

I've never in my life seen a franchise mismanage their quarterback situation so badly

- give up 3 1sts to trade up for RG3
- waste RG3's historic rookie season by letting him fukk his knee up beyond repair
- fall ass backwards onto Kirk cousins, who turns out to actually be good and much better than anyone expected of him
- fail to sign cousins to an extension THREE TIMES
- damage relationship with Cousins and the team to the point of no return
- trade for QB that choked a playoff game away against the fukking Titans out of all teams

Yeah it doesn't get much worse than this

Cousins wanted too much money. Nikka hasn’t won shyt and wanted all that dough. Skins didn’t manage the situation well but Cousins came off money hungry. If he was a nikka he’d be called selfish and a “me” guy

Redskins had to do something. But why pay Smith when you could have given Cousins less years ago? Unless they think Alex is a better fit for them or something which I doubt myself. He is what he is at this point and if he performs as well as he did this past season they should be content with that.

I agree to an extent, but I also feel like Cousins held the leverage in that situation following his 2016 season. I have no issue with the Skins tagging him the first time after his 2015 season because IMO he put up a lot of empty stats and played really well against terrible teams (IIRC all his multi TD games were against atrocious defenses that season). But he more than proved himself in 2016 and put the Skins in a position where they pretty much had to sign him long term and they failed to get it done, so they tagged him again. They then let his 2 best receiving options walk in free agency to replace them with.... Terrelle Pryor who wanted 4/52 from Cleveland and got 1/6 for good reason

And yet he still put up his best season (IMO) with no weapons other than Vernon Davis. I can understand blaming him for the Skins missing the playoffs in '16 because he was terrible in their win-and-in game against the Giants. But 7-9 with the Redskins last season was probably about as good as anyone could have done at QB. Him wanting a lot of money just happens to coincide with hitting his prime, coming off his rookie contract and 2 straight franchise tags, QBs getting paid a lot, and mainly his open market value (which is sky high at this point)

Don't think anyone would call him selfish at this point after the Skins gave Alex Smith $71M guaranteed, which is pretty much what Cousins was looking for the whole time from Washington

I agree, but I think the growing narrative that has so many die hard 'skins fans like myself upset is SMITH, KC, & Mccoy are ALL sides of the same damn coin. I'm sorry, NO ONE can convince me that if given an opportunity that Mccoy can't do what smith does and I bet if he had a shot he could beat smith out for the starting job.

The reason I keep bringing up Mccoy is Synder and Gruden knows what he can do. This smith signing was to save face to look like they weren't tanking. KC was overthrowing deep targets and checking down and that's all smith will do. Our offensive weapons outside of Davis are horrible and we need to let Reed go. The defense was inured but outside of a few bright spots I'm not impressed.

We could have just let Mccoy be the starter and maybe drafted another guy in the mid rounds and build the rest of the team. This shyt will be worse than the Mcnabb signing in my opinion because I don't trust danny & bruce to put a team around Smith or any QB.

The only hilarious thing about this signing is listening to the heartbreak in all of the local DC radio guys like that punk Cooley who had the biggest man crush on Cousins, so did his co host Sheenhan. And reading all of those butt hurt fans on extremeskins upset that Kirk left. We will never going to achieve anything with Kirk...

I'm glad we're officially done with RGIII/KIRK era, I'm just waiting on Gruden to follow suit....

EDIT: Lettuce be real it was either Reid or Smith after that debacle in the playoffs

Andy Reid had to do something to buy himself a few more years during the "rebuilding" phase:whew:

Chiefs dumb as hell. Andy Reid is really the problem, the man consistently outsmarts himself or is outcoached by smarter coaches. Not sure how he keeps getting jobs as a coach in all honest. Well yes I do,he's a great coach, but he can only take you so far. Maybe Alex Smith is the same as a QB who knows. Their two crazy losses even I remember in the playoffs, I believe have been weird come from behind losses. Which tells me someone is being outcoached in the second half:usure:.
