I would say this to help boost your confidence. Hide the negatives and expose the positives. If you are considered funny, let that be your way into a woman's heart. I'm shy/introverted, though I do like cracking jokes. People who really know me say I'm funny.

Once at the bus stop in high school one of the homies was like, "You not getting any ass but no homo you probably the best looking nikka in the crew " Two times has a female in my age group blatantly said I'm handsome...well one said "You have very nice features" but nonetheless they had no motive other than an honest opinion. A couple years ago on a car ride to NC my uncle asked if I was dating and I said nah, and long story short my father was like "don't sell yourself short cause your mother told me her friends warned her about how the girls at the county college just dying for a good man and 20 years ago they would've took me and she has to say yall better leave my son alone."

So there's these anecdotes of good looks but like you, I just be feeling ugly I never heard of anyone spreading rumors about me running through women, nikkas lying on me, but maybe it's because I don't socialize hard enough.
