I have lots of favorite RPGS but recently P4G was the only JRPG that actually had me invested into the characters/narrative so much that it moved me to learn the original language.

Never thought I'd know Japanese or care but P4G was the driving force behind it



The greatest game ending song I've ever heard in my life .

Felt like real people with heart made the game.

Not a factory made game created for mass consumption.

So Persona 4 Golden is MY favorite JPRG game evert.

honorable mentions to

Star Ocean 2 cause of those combat voice ad libs (oh, it's just them.), but I found that cheat where you get a rare item every few steps WAY too early. Honestly, the game having a billion secrets, hacks and hidden items is really what makes it so fun.

Treasure Hunter G: So fukking simple. So fukking great.

edit: cause that last one I really wouldnt consider an RPG

xenogears was on another level

only game i know where killing GOD is barely the halfway point in the story

xenosaga ep 3 had some goat moments too. the series overall was up and down, but everyone on that roster saw some shyt by the end
