revenue grab till you can hire and eventually own the pr network and lists used to build your client base.
then, use revenue grab based dollars to own or employ contractor based entity to handle a larger revenue grab entity.

you don't have to network.
when you have the bread to pr and the product base in demand.
get money and hire/under pay channel sales rep who talk that networking bullshyt.
then, fire their low number profit making ass and take their lists and eliminate the middleman commission guy.
