This isn't from just this generation. This is all time from 1995 and it says what I almost alway say. The most played games are almost ALWAYS COD and GTA.I love being correct the entire time and told I'm a crazy stan from actual stans.
Meanwhile the charts tells you all you need to know about, this generations gaming behavior, exclusivity, and sales in a quick glance.
Literally 9 of the top 20 best grossing games of all time on Playstation are not Call of Duty, and among that 9, most of em are GTA.
You either can’t read or conveniently skipped over # 11Insane, there 1st part game got the most units out but not even charting sales wise.
Meanwhile you ask any Sony stan and Gamepass is destroying the industry

I've always said that COD, GTA and a few other franchises are the most played games EVERYWHERE. Two things can be true at the same time, I don't know if that's too much for you to process.
By your same logic, every other developer/franchise is a fail because it didn't chart in the top 20 grossing/units since 1995. That puts 90% of other games as flops according to you.

but the list here is showing MOST of the 3rd party/multiplayer as not falling under best selling here hence why I said it's odd to make a blanket statement such as "3rd party games are the best sellers" when in reality we see it's really a small few that are selling the best consistently. Going by this list alone in the US, you'd think Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Gran Turismo, Uncharted, The Witcher, Monster Hunter, Metal Gear Solid aren't popular games both in units sold and dollars. You can't possibly tell me you don't realize that it's really COD and GTA that are the biggest IPs in gaming.

I don't hate Nintendo, stop trying to create a false narrative here. Best games of the decade included games that were only on PS3/4/5 at the time they released. Some of them going to PC later doesn't change that the experience was had on that platform.

Most people buy consoles for different reasons, but a lot of the reasons include typically GTA, COD, a groundbreaking game that everyone is talking about etc. Everyone is not buying every game that comes out each year. Every 3rd party game isn't selling multiple millions each year.
If someone says get a PS5 so you can get the majority of games that release plus their exclusives aka to cast a wide net, that's not a completely illogical, and loony statement to make. "Xbox has no games" was said because the main talking point at the beginning of the gen was it was going to be the most powerful console ever and completely outclass PS5 graphically, that didn't pan out and then they were already failing to deliver compelling exclusives to differentiate themselves from Playstation. Nintendo doesn't count simply because Nintendo is clearly very different with their games catalog as well as being very different in terms of hardware. Most gamers who would get a PS5 would most likely get it in addition to another platform because of Mario, Pokemon, Zelda and Smash Bros.
Now they start to drop all of their first party games day 1 on PS5 and you're confused as to why people are championing PS5 as the best console this gen?
