I'll repost what I said in NBA observations. I still don't know why this is news today. This has been reported before.

Based off recent data, do you still agree with that? I would take Jalen and own picks back over those other offers. Also do you still agree with those takes about Jalen? He's not worse than Jabari or Cam. He's not reliant on Sengun either and he slows down Jalen's game.

Rockets go on a nice run against mostly shyt comp and now Jalen Green is back to "build around him" status? The Nets wouldn't even be paying him because they believe in him so much and he can be one of the league's great players. Nobody believes that. They'd be paying him because what the fukk else are they gonna do? At least on the Rockets, they can dare him to keep playing this way and then match whatever the market bears. If you're cornered into having to pay someone a max deal, that's not a plan. a maxed out Jalen Green and a rookie Dalton Knecht or Reed Sheppard is not a plan. Throw in Clowney and Whitehead and that core maybe finishes 2nd in the Big East unless you wanna pay Claxton $18-20 mil on top of this.
Like I said there, what's gonna happen to Jalen if he gets a max deal on a shyt team with not much help coming? "Hey Jalen remember all the stupid shyt you did when the Rockets weren't shyt. Do that in Brooklyn. What are we gonna do? Not pay you?" The picks are gone. It would be like Houston offering up Sengun for THEIR picks back. They're gone. Losing Tari Eason in the Harden trade is worse than anything that can happen this year. Only reason why fans are so mad about the losing itself is because they can't go on Tankathon and see who's out there, but if they did they'd know there ain't shyt there anyway.

No actually the Nets were correct to turn down that trade.
They should have probably accepted the Thunders offer. Less picks but assuming they would throw in Josh Giddey would make more sense.
