AI was really off in that series before the final 2 games.

I’ve mentioned this before but the rest of the Sixers team gets knocked too much to prop up AI. And it’s really not necessary to praise AI.

AI did a great job, his role was to shoot a lot and draw attention from the defense. Defenses would key in on him so much. The 76ers were an okay offensive team thanks to him…otherwise they would be poor.

But the rest of the team shouldn’t get knocked as much as they often do. The roster really wasn’t bad by Eastern Conference standards. Take a look at the roster of the Raptors team that they went 7 with.

Milwaukee was the opposite of Philly in having more offensive firepower but not as good defensively.

Despite AI shooting terribly through 5 games, Philly was still up 3-2 thanks in large part to the defense
That team want winning SHYT without AI taking 30 shots

It was built around him

Great team but who were the offensive weapons if AI was out?

The issue is when we shyt on current players for poor performances (Russ/Harden/Mitchell) or for only having a one-off playoff run (Trae Young) then cape for the Iversons, Melos, and TMacs like they weren’t on the same shyt -if not often times worse.

in other words, celebrate Iverson leading his team to the finals, but if you going to weaponize it against players 2-decades in the future… then yea ppl will pick apart that fabled finals run with harsh realities. That’s typically how it goes.

Iverson was mid outside a few seasons :hubie:
Is a decade a few seasons?

The only thing I can question regarding AI is if he really wanted to win games and titles or just score as many points as possible, dude was playing 44 minutes per game in the regular season when he was injured :mjlol:

With that equivalent amount of minutes Giannis and SGA would average like 40-45 ppg
