I think cause it's a new business a lot of the deals are fukked up in favor of the streaming sites. It's going to take some big names to force these guys to pay up. Better do it now before the companys get too big later on. Unless they find a way to stop filesharing :heh: streaming is the future.

Complaining about Pandora rates is just tricknology to get people to think all streaming payouts are bad, since you never have an article mentioning shytty Pandora rates without them also mentioning Spotify which pays more. People don't read the details in articles anyway so it all gets lumped in. Like the fact that Aloe Blacc was one of three writers, and the writers share doesnt represent the entire amount Pandora would have to pay for the song. People in these articles never go at their labels for giving them the cut that they currently receive. And on top of all that, the more people paying for Spotify would mean more money for every song that gets streamed so it would benefit artists to encourage people to stop being cheap and get the damn $10 monthly subscription. Without streaming sites do they think people are all gonna go buy more itunes singles? Nah, they will just steal the mp3 and keep it moving

Dude..he is talking about STREAING ROYALTIES!!!!.....TUNECORE IS NOT A STREAMING SERVICE...GOTTDAMIT!!!

TUNECORE IS A DISTRIBUTOR aka DIGITAL AGGREGATORS

....THIER BUSINESS MODEL IS THEY TAKE THE MONEY UPFRONT UNLIKE OTHER DISTRIBITORS (DIGITAL AGGREGATORS) such as INGROOVES which gets the back end royalties....

AND WHAT DA FUKK U TAKLING ABOUT ITUNES for they ARE NOT A STREAMING SERVICE AS WELL.....DUMMY!!!

PANDORA (a STREAMING SERVICE dummy!) was being dissed by Radiohead lead singer for having artists split up a measly 11 cent on the dollar while the rest went to Pandora, the digital aggregator and the publishers....

this is what the average artist is making off of YOUTUBE these days..THE MOST POPULAR STREAMING SERVICE to date in regards to visuals and audio

read it and weep:

Based on grade school math, artists stand to earn anywhere from $0.00222 to $0.0025 per stream.

And fukk what you say about SPOTIFY you full of shyt......unless that dude had a serious Beyoncé like partnership with Spotify he was making that bread you claim he was making off them streams..

DUDE I CO-OWNED A INTERNET RADIO STATION ...I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM.....

here I am CHARGING artists to get their songs played on my station, but yet they can't even benefit from the potential revenue that the broadcast station was bringing in

I couldn't be apart of that fukkery anymore cause I was a manager of starving artists as well

THAT'S WHY I TRIED TO FIGHT FOR MY ARTIST TO RECIEVE STREAMING REVENUE BUT MY HOSTING NETWORK DIDN'T WANNA DO THAT ...CAUSE THEY KNEW THE BULK OF THAT REVENUE WOULD COME FROM THE ADVERTISING INCOME THAT THEY WERE GETTING .....

IT'S A DIRTY GAME..........BUT UNFORTUNATLY U DON'T UNDERSTAND CAUSE YOU TOO BUSY THROWING YOURSELF IN THE BUSHES KNOWN AS SMART DUMB N1GGA TERRIRORY CAUSE YOU LACK COMPREHENSION SKILLS

:to: go back to school fool

You are just talking big sh!t. I never said Tunecore was a streaming service. I just said they don't take royalties....some services do. On the other hand iTunes is/has a streaming service with a different model....and YES that artist DOES NOT have a beyonce backing and is making THAT NUMBER.

That dude made that long ass post but only exposed how he does not know how to make money in the music biz. Aka stay out. I just asked the artist for the model and he told me not to post it because the last thing we need is a resurgence of wack artists. I agree.

This right here I've heard of plenty of indie artists who've made decent money from Spotify.

Her's a band that game spotify for 20k

http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2014/05/album-that-earned-band-20000-removed-by-spotify.html

That pay per stream of 0.002 that they have is wrong, Spotify pays 0.006-0.0084 per stream

Recently, these variables have led to an average “per stream” payout to rights holders of between $0.006 and $0.0084. This combines activity across our tiers of service. The effective average “per stream” payout generated by our Premium subscribers is considerably higher.
