4 is far from trash. 5 i feel was just getting going when the story ended tbh

I really wish they did more heists in 5 instead of moving everything to online
This....

With GTA 5 and RDR2 it seems like Rockstar is purposely limiting their own potential

Heists missions were crack and like you said by the time it really got going it was over.

We couldn't get at least one so dlc for 5 and RDR2...still makes me mad today

Whatever bandwidth they used to implement that travel between players shyt in gta 5 wasnt worth it. It didnt add much to the gameplay or anything to the story

I mean thank you for the attempt at ambition but the return wasnt worth the cost and it doesnt need to be in 6

Dan Houser gave an interview and said that if they had continued to pursue single player DLC for 5 then rdr2 wouldn't have been made

He says single player DLC is some5hing he wants to continue to expand and explore in the future as well

4 was meh to me. I enjoyed 5 for what it was, a graphically beautiful explorable game but a lot of shyt they left on the table. For example, how can u have gambling in casinos for gta SA but not in 5? U have to play online to have access to the casino. :dahell:

The fact buildings were extremely limited to access as well as dull brain dead NPCs. If 6 continues that trend, i wont even care if they drop 7 in my life time or not.

It's a series that peaked on the PS2. It's living off those games reputation and we're all chasing the high of 3, Vice City and San Andreas.

That's why I laugh when people act like GTA 6 is this alpha omega of gaming that nothing can compare to. It's a tired game in a tired genre that hasn't truly been innovative in several console gens. The huge gaps in releases has actually helped GTA maintain its lofty reputation. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. But if they were releasing games at a greater clip, I think most people would've see these games for what they are.

I'm sure the attention to detail on the next game will be impeccable. The game will have all the bells and whistles. Prestige TV style storytelling. But ultimately we all know what the gameplay is going to be. We know what them missions look like. We know the combat is gonna be janky. I hope i'm wrong and they do something unique and special, but i'm just expecting a souped up GTA 5. And for some people that's enough.

This is such a wild take. I've played games that aren't for me but I can recognize they are still quality games. It's like people can't separate their personal taste against actual quality.
