Am I the only one feeling like OKC Thunder front office is overrated?

Presti doing whatever he can. It's the clay bennett a$$hole who sabotaged the sonics and is being cheap as fukk at keeping the team rolling in oklahoma :mjpls: The purpose of OKC thunder is to fill up the seats with rednecks or whoever lives there every game, that's it, they don't care if team wins championship or not. It's cheaper to have a deep playoff run than push it all in for championship, at least that's how they feel. You don't see certain franchises ever winning a championship or maybe by a miracle they get one (like cleveland because James thought he owes one to cleveland)
Ever since Mike retired, three states have been taking most of the championships: Cali, Texas and Florida.

Harden had to be let go because they could not agree on a contract and ownership wasn’t willing to pay what he wanted. It’s no guarantee with perennial chokers, one being a mental midget and the other low I.Q. that they would ever win a championship anyway.

Harden is only an MVP because you saw him blossom into one leaving OKC. Russell is an MVP because you saw him become a one man system and stat padded his way to nightly triple doubles. In the grand scheme it doesn’t mean automatic championship.

After their Finals loss they had some bad luck with injuries and seemed to be missing a piece and/or Durant/Westbrook flat out underperformed or choked.

No, Presti is not overrated. He has kept OKC as a perennial playoff team in a small market for a decade with cheap ownership without tanking once he has accumulated nearly 20 picks in the next decade that pretty much ensures OKC won’t suck for a good minute.

OKC can’t suck, fans stop supporting and it’s clipped for that market.

Theyre gonna suck for the next couple of years AT LEAST...

it depends on what they do with all these picks

Losing Durant, Westbrook and Harden and getting only 1 finals appearance is pretty bad.

Drafting wise they are the best in the league

No they arent lol.

Look at there draft history its full of misses.

UNless they had a top 5 consensus pick they have struckout on 95 % of there 1st rounders...In the last 10 years there best draft was Steven Adams at 12

Perry Jones ? Cameron Payne ? Archie Goodwin ? Mitch McGary ? Thay have had awful drafts under Presti...

It's fukking Oklahoma. No FAs are going there and they will always have an issue keeping talent. So the only way to ever be competitive is through the draft or trading for talent.

The fact they've continued to be competitive in the West despite being a small market tells me they have competent management

I mean that's a possibility but what options do they have.

If the goal is to win a championship, you'll need a generational talent. There's only 3 ways to do that. 1)Sign them 2)trade for them 3)draft them

Since the first ain't happening, you'll need assets and draft picks for route 2 & 3, which they have.

Is he a good GM ? Yes

Is he overrated,yes

Donnie Nelson took the mavs to two finals and won a chip and you never hear his name .

The Spurs front office..we already know what they on

Masai Ujiri turned Toronto into a player development machine and won a chip.

Even pump fake Danny has a proven championships track record .

Pat Riley/Andy Ellisburg been masterminding for over a decade in Miami

Presti (and Morey for that matter ) shouldn’t be mentioned with them Until they actually win something

Joe Dumars won a title and kept the pistons competing for almost a decade and he’s a laughing stock . But bring up Hinkie and people act like he’s a franchise savior /basketball wizard :heh: The basketball media picks and chooses who they want their golden child to be

Whoever the hell the guy is in Utah deserves some shine to but you’ll never hear about him or Olshey out in Portland

Most of your problems with OKC lie with ownership, not Presti.

The one bad move Presti made was not trading Russ instead of Harden. Would have been a tough pill to swallow at the time but was the right move long term.

As it is, they are doing the right thing and Presti and his scouts clearly have eye for talent. OKC isn't exactly a FA hotbed.
:manny: Presti is a genius
