I literally don't understand how it got so popular. Its literally an ass backward way of listening/owning music
I'm a music head, and I'm actually into owning my music, having a collection that you'll have forever. Streaming just seems like borrowing the music temporarily as long as you have wifi

Even newer albums that came out in the past 5 years. I usually just buy the CD or download it digitally from Amazon

Streaming has such a disposable feeling to me :hubie:, no wonder most of the music coming out right now is disposable music

So how do u listen to music in ur car? Just xm radio???

I don't stream....I'm an old head

I grew up on terrestrial radio during the golden era .....

I was listening to dope music.for.free on WBLS....HOT 97..98.7 KISS FM.
.HOT107.9 V103

and in love.hearing.radio.personalities

Being I worked.in radio myself

I think the idea of SUBSCRIBING to.a service.to hear music is Idiotic to me..

Its like.another CABLE bill ....smh

When I want music singles I just use a file.converter and basically rip music.off.mixcloud or YouTube with a free Mp3 converter site....

If its.an album in.really interested in ill buy the physical.retail album

Or go to my local bootleg spot at the flea market and get a copy

It's just more convenient.. I've been on the spotify wave since the week they launched in the us, I will never use anything else... Everything is there at your fingertips like others have already said, I don't have to lug around album cases or deal with scratched cds and shyt no more

Plus on top of that is the added bonus of making your own playlists that I can listen to at work or the gym or subscribing to someone else's and getting put on to new shyt

You can own your music.... and stream it too. :francis:

I used to be on this same bullshyt. But the math works out better in reverse. Paying $15 a month is way cheaper than buying new music every month. And you can still buy and own music if you really want to. Streaming has actually helped me find more music to buy and own.

I don’t think people that stream music are really into MUSIC... they just want to hear what’s current while scrolling through their smartphones...

These are people that you can’t have a serious discussion about music with because their only point of reference is what is currently popular and what came out 6 months ago...

Streaming is less expensive than purchasing a single LP, but once you cancel your subscription you no longer have access to the music...

It just comes down to how much you value music and whether or not you want a tangible product.

Most of this new generation was brought up on downloads and streaming and have probably never gone to a Sam Goody or FYE to buy records, tapes, and CDs like we used to.

There are pros and cons to both sides. Writing either side off without really giving them a try is stupid.

For me the main value in Spotify is how it helps me find new music, and take the risk out of buying music. Plus anyone who grew up in the Napster era probably already has a huge music collection. Mine is like 40 gigs :yeshrug:

Me being a music head is the reason I got into streaming.

40 million+ songs for 10 bucks a month? Sold.

radio.garden, I got every radio station on the face of the earth that has an internet stream.

I do a loooooooooot of digging for new stuff while listening to old stuff.

Plus, it's far more convenient than having $3-4,000 with of CDs stolen (which I've been through)

Or having a hard drive with 500+ albums on it up and die (which I've had happen twice, once just a month ago)
