Am I the only one on earth who doesn't stream music?

One thing I don’t like about streaming is that people think you can get every song in the world on there but there’s plenty of stuff that’s NOT on streaming. I have Tidal and they don’t have any of De La Souls albums besides the Grind Date and the last one they put out. I like a lot of rare albums and shyt that might be hard to find also and that’s not on there. N’dea Davenport from the brand new heavies single works are not on there, etc.

You can own your music.... and stream it too. :francis:

I used to be on this same bullshyt. But the math works out better in reverse. Paying $15 a month is way cheaper than buying new music every month. And you can still buy and own music if you really want to. Streaming has actually helped me find more music to buy and own.

Paying for music is an L in and of itself in 2018. But if you don't have internet/data then you're kinda stuck if you're a streamer. That's why I just acquire digital copies of what I want to listen to and put it on my phone.

There are pros and cons to both sides. Writing either side off without really giving them a try is stupid.

For me the main value in Spotify is how it helps me find new music, and take the risk out of buying music. Plus anyone who grew up in the Napster era probably already has a huge music collection. Mine is like 40 gigs :yeshrug:

I’m not writing streaming off... and like you said both options have their positives and negatives...

I don’t stream but I sample music for free via YouTube and FLAC downloads... if I like something I buy the vinyl or CD... simple as that. I’m a music consumer who prefers to own a physical copy.

“The Dude” is a classic and one of Quincy’s Masterpieces... that album is one of the best sounding albums I’ve ever heard... Q was at the top of his game during that era... I own the CD... don’t sleep... buy it.

owning music is so dumb.

it not something you created.

so you dont own it.

you own a copy

and cds, tapes take up space for no one reason

i have millions of songs at my fingertips with streaming and i dont feel guilty for pirating and can support the artists :ahh:

I got 5 CDs in cases in my center console in my car. I can barely fit anything else in there.

Those 5 CDs happen to be available on streaming platforms.
