Just paid off my capital one credit card balance yesterday.

Once I close my account with them for good, I will never deal with capital one again.

One credit increase in like 7 years, fukk them!

I have a few Credit Cards..Like everyone said, it's all about how you use it..

I put all my flights on my Delta American Express Card..

I get Sky priority boarding, Free Baggage, and I build points towards free rewards..

Now this same Scenario with cash or a debit card, I get none of the above, and I'm paying $25 each way for baggage.

Have fun not making a few extra hundred dollars a year, and getting free clothes and shyt.

I get credit cards with cash back, and points. Then I use my credit cards for literally every possible purchase. I try to put as much chit as possible on my credit cards (chit that I would be spending cash on anyway). Then I pay in full so no interest.

I get cash back and points which I use towards gift cards to foot locker and kohls and shyt. All for spending money like I normally would. In about a couple of months, I'm gonna get me a fresh pair of Nikes for doing absolutely nothing I wouldn't normally do already.

I wouldn't worry about id theft with regards to ya credit card. It's extremely easy to move on from unauthorized use of your account.

The problem with id theft is when they open up an account without you knowing....that shyt's ridiculously messy :sadcam:

I pay $5/month for a credit monitoring service thru citigroup...works well, I'm usually notified within 24 hours of someone checking my credit. :ehh:

ID Theft is real, I remember pulling my credit report one year and There was a Shell Gas Card on their that was open before I was even born..I was like :wtf:

Now I'm paying $15/month with Experian to monitor my credit, and I pull my credit report once a year just to make sure everything straight..

Case in point.

- I buy my textbooks on Amazon.
- Right now Amazon is offering a promotion: Spend 200$ at Best Buy, get 20$ statement credit
- I go to Best Buy (which is right near Shoprite, where I buy groceries), and buy 200$ Amazon gift card (money I would be spending anyway)
- I get $200 worth of textbooks for $180
- I pay balance in full, pay no interest.

This is just one example. I save a lot of money with credit cards. Probably over 1,000 bucks a year.

Cash back rewards = .01 to .05 cent for every dollar you spend. No big deal if you pass on that.

It adds up much faster than you think. I've had this card for a little over a year and I'm already at...

That's more interest than I earn from my savings account each year. Hell that's more than some people on this forum have in their checking acct. It's not a ton of money, no, but it's way better than spending cash and getting nothing.

man the reward programs can help you feast especially if you know how to use up all the little breaks they give u

with online banking i can pay/transfer funds to my credit card on my phone too so its easy to literally pay for everything with credit even though u may have the cash.

Right now im on a student card and im going to sign up at another bank on some student pricing in the next few months :scheme: try to extend those student interest rates well beyond my attendance :scheme:

I have a CHASE card, both best buy cards, and an amex card.

Total amount of money owed across all cards is $504. Which is just on one card which gets paid off at the end of every month :yeshrug:
