She messed up by comparing it to dark skin. It’s not the same and downplays the root cause of colourism = anti blackness.

Her comment is more like when a white Person says ‘but if we had a white entertainment television network’.

Light skin dudes have an overall privilege in the community. So it’s not colourism.

However, this ‘light skin nikkas be like’ shyt needs to stop it’s corny. When darker people do it, 95% of the time it’s their insecurity talking. When other light skins do it..... it’s over compensating as well for their own insecurities.

It’s much less common than the reverse but I know light skin women that only date dark skin men because they’re insecure about their blackness. Light skin men don’t tend to do it as much. Both dark skin men and women purposely get with lighter or white people out of pure insecurity and self hate.

I'm a dark-skinned brotha, and while I do believe a lot of black people are color-struck, for light-skinned males, there are certain stigmas associated.

Lighter-skinned women are, generally, considered to be more feminine - but so are light-skinned men. I'll keep it a whole buck, if a light-skinned nikka ever whipped my ass, I'd probably want to kill that nikka. I'm not a killer, tho'. But a light-skinned nikka whipping my ass is the equivalent of getting raped in prison. If the nikka got green eyes or some shyt and/or curly/naturally wavy hair, I'd rather die than take that L. That nikka better hope he got KO power, or a gun, or some ridiculous endurance, 'cause there is something deep down within me that would will only accept victory or death against light-skinned nikka. It’s always been clear to me that darks-skinned bm are insecure in respect to lighter skinned men. Although they try to pass the buck by claiming to be solely a DS black female problem.

One thing I agree is BW have to stop pumpfaking for DS men. You don’t get a prize for gassing up some dark skinned dude ego at a LS men expense when he is chasing LS chick tail anyway. Why some of these women is beyond me.
