I don’t work in a place where I have to do that. Also those people shouldn’t have to either. You saying because they work in a factory or whatever they can’t have their phones on them? That’s crazy.
You are conflating two things.
You are conflating the realities of managing low skilled labor
with
Cell phone policies.
I've worked in high skilled labor enviroinments where phones are banned. Anyone who has worked in a SCIF knows this.
You know what you do, you typically have a hardline phone number that people can use for calls.
No different than it used to be when I was younger and worked in grocery stores, you have the phone numbre of the office in the event of emergency on your family side (your work number) and the work place has your emergency contact number in the event of an emergency that you have.
These aren't hard things.
As for the phone policy, that the peopel are so stupid that they just don't leave their phones in their car but have to bring it in and are willing to wait 30 minutes to sign them in and out, tells you the stupidity and mental capacity of that work force.
