In the Silver Lining
Their wasn't any nikkas to run out of Hudson Yards in the first place... it is built on top of a train yard and its a mix of residential luxury buildings and industrial surrounding it. The High Line surrounding it its hella bougie to me, I like walking it but I feel horribly out of place up there being a black man from BK :pachaha:

So if they split the HQ2 between NOVA and NYC that would be totally unexpected, and actually not overwhelm a city with 50k people.

Right next door to Long Island City is Sunnyside Yards, which like what is happening with Hudson Yards has been mentioned as a location to cap over with a platform to put apts/condos, offices, schools and parks.

It's an expensive process and it would need something like a 25,000 person project to make it feasible.

This is just a potential conceptual rendering, not a specific plan, but some of those buildings taller than the blue Citibank skyscraper in the background may not be feasible. The reason is because LaGuardia airport is just north of LIC/Sunnyside Yards and in the takeoff/landing runway flight path, so FAA has major control over the height of buildings in this area.

Jackson Heights and Woodside are not "native New Yorker" neighborhoods, they've been filled with immigrants for years. The neighborhoods that people associate with "native whites" like Maspeth, Ridgewood, and Glendale now have large Latino immigrant populations (in additions to many Polish immigrants)

Oh really? :ohhh: I definitely thought those were still overwhelmingly white. Are these Mexicans? Colombians? Central Americans?

not happy about it, jobs my ass, its all automation or slave labor type jobs and bezos will literally take over the city like he did in seattle. prob be crawling with homeless in a minute

This is not a warehouse their trying to build but a corporate office campus.

Ridgewood is definitely more Hispanic than white, Glendale is predominately white but with a large and likely growing Latino minority. Woodhaven is also way more Hispanic than white.

I'm not sure about the Hispanic distribution but it seems like a mix of Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Ecuadorians, and more.

Thats a damn lie. Jersey especially is perfect for a HQ its literally in the middle in everything and Philly is hot right now.

No one want to live in Newark. That city on walking dead status. All yall got is Prudential and they wont even host their annual meetings there bc it's so dusty.

I still want to move to Queens. Always loved that borough besides Brooklyn is getting crazy expensive and I have been here my whole life. Want a new scenery.
Thinking about moving to either Hollis,Jackson Heights,Ridgewood, Cambria Heights,South Side Jamaica, St Albans, the neighborhood that is by Baisley Park I forgot the name of it. Queens is a low key underrated borough for a young black professional bachelor.

Even in some of the shytty Queens neighborhoods, houses are already going for over 1 million dollars. Long Island City already has an insane amount of luxury construction. Unless Amazon brings an insane amount of jobs, this won't really mean much in the grand scheme of things.
