I used to be critical of the black people in South Africa “coloured “ saying they not black. But we can’t really understand that. America is so racist they classified us as black for just one drop. Just pure hate. But them somewhat the opposite where if you have some white in you, they created a system to say “well you blacks are not black”. This is the system they were and are oppressed under. So I see the perspective now. They not trying to distance themselves from black people. It’s just the rule of law there or was
Africa has never needed to consider mutts as Black because pure Black people are the majority and never needed them or to recoginze them, unlike in America where Black people being a minority had no problems adopting biracials because they needed the numbers to offset cacs..
Biracials if pale enough would even be called White in some parts of Africa, but certainly not Black Black..
Its why Americans struggled to understand the Tyla issue.
People tried applying American racial classifications to outsiders who actually know what they are and then become confused.
Tyla's coloured, not Black African. She has European ancestry and in South Africa Black people won't see her as Black Black like the US does.
Basically the majority people anywhere have the luxury to not adopt biracials as the same race, whether White people in America or Black people in Africa.
