I live in the south my household doesn’t even pull in half that number. But then again it’s just me; no spouse or kids.

Do I live “comfortably”? I would say so. But I’ve never traveled anywhere in my adult life, I eat basic foods (rice, bread, chicken, salad and fruit), I rarely go out and I’ve never fukked “high-class” whores

I work, go home, eat, play PS5, jerk off and sleep. That’s how 90% of my time is spent. Not hard to live “comfortably” with that kinda lifestyle :manny:

It all depends on living within your means. If you’re not rich the. You have to live within your means. This means having a savings goal and the working around that.

You make that much money and you still renting ?? What's the thought process behind that?
Just a hypothetical situation showing that 233k is beyond comfortable.

If the person wanted to buy I think another poster mentioned they could afford up to a 800k home with that kind of money.

You know what? Ya'll are right. $250k is enough for kid's college, $300k house, a couple vacations while still hitting the 401k. That's very comfortable. That said, getting there don't sound easy. 2 people making $125k a piece, but how many hours they working?

I think a couple making $120k together and budgeting well will be just as comfortable, just less extravagant. It's also much easier to obtain $60k salary.

233k gets you around 170k after taxes
Pay 3k in rent in a HCOL 1br leaves you with 134k
Lease a 7 series -> $800-900/mo leaves you 123k

123k is an absolute insane amount of fukk around money and beyond comfortable.
I think "comfortable" isn't so much about what you need to live well.

Comfortable (for most people) probably means...."how much do I need to make so that I can have all the shyt I want without having to really think/budget too much?"

I found it interesting that Blacks claimed to need $339k while whites had the lowest amount. Some of that can be explained by us usually living in high COL metros....we probably would need more money. Plus we make less anyway, so getting ourselves up to a certain level might require more $$$.

If I own a home + cars that are paid off and have no CC debt, the desired salary would probably be lower than if I have debt.

And when it comes to stagnant wages, corporations getting over not only with profit but dodging paying back loans with each bailout
You nikkas turn to conservative white men

Most people aren't financially responsible.

Going on vacations with massive debt.

This, and "what do I need to take care of now while putting away for when I'm 60+?"

Everybody talks about "cut back", "make it work" but that entails sacrificing one for the other, which is not comfortable.
