IM torn. She has the numbers. She was huge in the 90s. But can you really put her on that Mary J, Janet jackson level?
No... And MJB isn't on the same level as Janet.

Janet, Whitney, Mariah, Madonna are global icons

MJB is a icon to r&b/soul/hip hop fans.

:mjlol: yeah, those "thick" ig model are good lookin in the moment, but if they dont stay in the gym, :merchant:

Amerie is one artist that I really wish would've been embraced more. She had the voice and the look. That time period gave us some great R&B records. Artists like Amerie, Musiq, Tweet, Ashanti, Donell Jones, etc

yeah, it's funny you say that but you right about the "thick" ig models who good lookin' for the moment....

this 1 lady i know who like 10 years ago was like a bootleg esther baxter (shape wise) was like every hood nikkas' dream. anyway, i saw her recently and she tellin' me how she been hittin' the gym and how she watches what she eats and all that and back then i remember thinkin', "if she don't work out and stay in the gym, she gon be fat" but sure enough, she's stay devoted to the gym and looks great now but as you said and like we know, that ain't always with most of these super thick ladies

back to ameire, yeah, amerie missed the 90's mark, i think. if she would've come out in the 90's she would've gotten embraced and "had that love" *rich porter's voice from "paid in full"

i use to always say, "why don't we fall in love" sounds like a swv song. i could hear coko from swv singin' it when i heard it. it had such a great throwback feel to it

but you right on the money when you named checked the followin': her, musiq, tweet, ashanti and donell jones and how they should've been embraced even more than they were. they are all great artists who somehow missed the mark of bein' SUPER STAR status but lord knows, all well deservin' of it

yeah, i got more a gut more than anythin'. i've never been straight up "fat" but i'm short (only 5'6) and because i don't really work out and watch what i eat, i guess you could say i'm a short and stocky nikka like vinny from naughty by nature :mjlol:

but i do feel the need to work out and be more proactive about what i eat though :mjcry:

yeah, i always said, "yo, this song got a swv feel to it." i think aside from it bein' a great song on it's own merit, that's also why i always fukked with it. it gave me that feelin' i missed since swv had broken up :mjcry:

remember when swv sung over big's "10 crack commandments" :wow:
puffy stayed jackin' samples and even reusin' some of the same beats over and over but he made a single outta of album cut :damn:

So Beyoncé jacked Ameries 1 thing swag for her solo career?

That's interesting because crazy in love came out in 03 and 1 thing came it in 2005
keyshia cole? keri hilson? ameriie? rihanna? etc.

why dont we fall in love is one of the few songs that just captivated me. i heard that on vhi soul and just stopped what i was doing to listen to it. ive been a fan of hers ever since. the only other song ive ever done that with is a life in the day of benjamin andre.
