As they've been doing since the Civil Rights Act was passed, Republicans purposely use trans people as a wedge issue to distract stupid citizens (some of them on this forum) from the fact that our work productivity has continued to increase but we are getting screwed on wages, healthcare, housing, education and many other issues because of wealth concentration, business interests, and the disproportionate effect that lobbyists have on pushing government policy.

You can say that Democrats have also succumbed to these same interests, and you would be right, but at least their purported policy goals would benefit ordinary/working class people if implemented.

Outside of a few faux populists (Josh Hawley, Marco Rubio, JD Vance, Steve Bannon, etc.), Republicans don't even pretend to care about any policies that would benefit ordinary people. Republicans, not progressives, are the ones who are constantly talking about trans people playing sports and pronouns because the issue polls well for them and they can distract simpleton/bigots from the fact that they are actively trying to make the lives of ordinary people worse so they can benefit the wealthy.

So here we are talking about trans people while Trump/Elon destroy government and social benefits in order to pass another unpaid for tax cut that will disproportionately benefit the wealthy.

How would you feel if Dems had had that reaction to passing the Civil Right Act of 1964? Do any of you not find it interesting that many of the most anti trans people are also anti-DEI? Christopher Rufo? Trump? Elon? This is not a referendum on the pros/cons of DEI programs, but I hope those of us that post on here know what they really mean when they are talking about meritocracy, yet nominating Pete Hegseth and Tulsi Gabbard.

One has to ask oneself why someone like Napoleon, who is not an idiot IMO, can concede that someone like Christopher Rufo is a bigot in the context of his anti-DEI push, yet will parrot his same talking points word for word on the trans issue anD even ask why trans people should exist.
