This came up on my YouTube, surprised this dropped a couple months ago and noone notice.

Have given the album a few more spins, its crazy how the second half is definitely the stronger half, it's usually the opposite with Aftermath albums.

I still like Malibu overall more than this but this is dope.

I actually like Paak’s rapping a lot on this. He’s got some cool flows and I like how he seamlessly weaves back and forth between rapping and singing. I know he’s always done that but it’s especially sharp on this.

I do like the production overall more on Malibu and NxWorries.

I saw how things were developing leading up to this project so I lowered my expectations prior to it dropping.

It's good overall. I'm not feeling how "polished" a lot of the records sound. That's something I knew would happen with Dre being hands on with this album. We all started rocking with Paak's music because of the hunger, soul and just rawness of his music. Malibu and YES LAWD! are perfect examples of his range in that space. There are moments on this album that capture that kind of vibe, but not enough for me to put it over those 2 projects.

Also... Bubblin' is easily better than at least like 4 records on this album. Especially that Left to Right record

Brother's Keeper is dope all around but the last 1:38 is the kinda shyt I was looking for from him

Yeah, and it's not just that song where you get that feeling. I got a tug-a-war kind of vibe from these records, where they start off sounding like one thing, and then the 2nd half sounds more true to the Paak sound that a lot of us fukk with heavy...

-6 Summers
-Smile/Petty
-Brother's Keeper (both parts of this song are dope af tho)

I feel like the 2nd parts of those songs could have been their own records, but it is interesting how this is the first time we've really seen Paak do entire beat/song switch ups like that on a project. Kind of validates the notion that they couldn't really find a specific sound for the album

I'm curious to see if the album still has that touch to it. I feel like Dr. Dre is a technical guy who loves polishing shyt up, and I'm just waiting to see how this joint comes out cause the 2 contrasting styles from where I became a fan of .Paak came from doesn't really mix with what we know Dre to do with acts/music.

We kind of already seeing the direction switch with the singles he's dropped already. While they're good songs, they aren't necessary what I'd call .Paak songs if that makes sense. idk, I'm looking forward to this shyt tho either way.

That's kind of why I said I had reservations, because with this kind of album and the expectations being higher than Paak's ever had before, I knew he would have to find a balance with what the music that he got recognized for and the new direction that Dre/Label wanted. I think he did a pretty good job doing that with a few misses.

I could do without Who R U?, Mansa Musa, and Left To Right. Everything else is pretty cool.
