I think they are equal as rappers, but imagine if Em shouted out Big Boi on Till I Collapse instead of Andre, I really think Big Boi would have been considered the best of the two. That verse from Em had a big impact.

People give too much credit to those lines on "Til I Collapse". It would've changed nothing. Redman and Kurupt didn't gain any extra attention from being mentioned on "Til I Collapse". Redman is still underrated. Even more so since "Til I Collapse" than he was before. Same goes for Kurupt.

The way the nikka structured songs and blended genres was what inspired all these great artists like Kendrick, Drake, Kanye, Chance the rapper, etc.

You know what i find hilarious? The same criticisms you all give Andre for never dropping an album(even though he has multiple classics with Outkast and showed his legendary emcee skills on those albums)....

There's a difference between being underrated and overrated...how bout being rated accordingly?..same way Black Thought doesn't get enough love as an emcee...Andre 3K is put in GOAT conversations with not 10 hip hop solo SONGs to his name...let alone albums...and when it comes to Black Thought...even tho he was in a group...the nikka was the THE rapper in the group...the others are musicians...main problem I have is people try to rewrite history like Andre 3K carried the group and Big Boi was some scrub who tagged along...

i think at first Dre was better at rapping (from a technical standpoint) than big boi but big boi pretty much caught up with him by Aquemini/Stankonia so they're pretty much equal at this point.

I also think that from a content standpoint Dre was ahead since way back and people were just more curious about where Dre would take it as far as subjects and concepts and what he would say. but this is also influenced by the scarcity of rapping from him at this point. makes it seems even more cool when he does rap (so i admit it might be a false perception).

another thing i will say is that Speakerboxx is severely underrated (both musically and content wise). One of my favorite hip hop groups and while 3000 is slightly overrated and big boi underrated, i still prefer 3000 to boi (but the gap is not as wide as people make it seem).
