Explain why? I don't know the history on Andre Drummond

Hes empty calories, will give you 20/20 in a double digit loss.....He doesnt impact winning esp onthe defensive end,hes fukkn terrible.

He might be better this year but in years past hes always been a 6-10 280 lbs Al Jefferson defensively...

He is?
He looked hot garbage from what I've seen.

You likely saw him in games where he was thinking he was a superstar play making PG trying to do too much. If he just played his role grabbed rebounds and protected the rim I would of had no complaints. But this cat at times things he’s a star. Granted he still has potential and could actually improve with the right coach but I’m not going to act like he’s a top 5 big man but I also won’t act like he doesn’t have potential to be better either.

I said that to say he can help the right teams. But the hard thing is finding those teams who would even want a big like Drummond.

He plays basketball the way he wants to basically and not in a way where it helps his team win.

During games he will frequently call for the ball in the post (majority of times like this he’s not even in position to take great high percentage shot) so that usually leads to a turnover or miss. He barely jumps at the rim so it’s mad easy to block his shot. He has very predictable post moves that defenders see coming. He gets his shyt blocked by people he easily should dominate routinely.

He absolutely loves dribbling the basketball even though he is terrible at it.

He sets half ass screens and never rolls hard.

If Dre just played to his strengths he would be a damn good center. He’s just built a ton of bad habits through the years and he’s delusional.

How much of this is him being disinterested because he knows hes not going to be in Cleveland beyond this year ?
Also how much of this is that hes never been on a team with a great coach or a team with good leadership ?

Not saying id want to trade for him or give up anything signifigant for him because of what you stated but what if the Raptors couldnt turn him into the center hes never been...With nurse with guys like Lowry and Van Vleet getting him the ball where he needs it and not letting him do dumbshyt....interesting thought :ehh:

Well it was just reported that he in his mind wanted to stay in Cleveland. I don’t think he took the Jarrett Allen trade well mentally. He’s letting his fears dictate his actions, focus, and effort.

What we see now is the end result of everything you’ve mentioned since he’s been in the league and I just don’t know at 27 if it’s too late to get him to commit to changing his on and off court approach.

It’s not an impossible thought but I feel like after 9 years most players are what they are :manny:

Is it just a half season rental or do they plan on keeping him long term? Powell is opting out of the last year of his deal and Toronto might not want to match his asking price.

It’s a tough situation to choose.

Both are free agents so losing Powell and getting Drummond really does nothing for both teams. Now and in the future.

He must have been on the Coli reading all the great stuff @Malta used to say about him

Even told me he was still growing and would probably top out over 7 FT :wow:

I agree im just thinking hes also been on bad teams where hes had to be 1 of the top 2-3 players,if he can go to a team where hes like Iguodala on the Warriors, dont ask him to be a scorer just rebound and play acceptable defense he wont look so bad.....Alot of what makes him look bad esp in Detroit is he was the 2nd best player on the team so of course his stats didnt lead to winning because they were bad and hes not a No 2....Look at me talking myself into this deal now :francis:
