Losing that election definitely hurt his argument. But Ojeda is running, and Beto is considering a run as well. I want a candidate to run that will focus mainly on Black issues even if they do not win. Similar to what Beanie did for Medicare for All. I know Gillum is probably won’t be that candidate.

I'm just commenting on the differences between "running" and running. Most people run to enhance their national profile, stay relevant, and/or get an appointment within the next administration. This is what I'd call "running". Running is self-evident.

Ojeda is "running".

O'Rourke would be running. He's the centrist choice and losing a close election to Ted Cruz in blood red Texas isn't the same as losing in a purple state. I guess he could run for governor in 2022, but I don't think he'd challenge Cornyn since apparently he's like Rob Portman (well liked, lowkey, and formidable).

To me, Gillum also falls into "running" category. I don't think he could be a headliner given his electoral circumstances.

Although Sanders/Gillum 2020 would solve a lot of Sanders' perceived and real weaknesses.:ld:

Gllium has zero case and I feel like he is harmed far more by running and flopping than not running at all. I feel like his best efforts at this point should be helping to create a real Democratic organization in FL. He should be at the forefront of finally bringing the Florida Democratic Party into the current era and putting up a legitimate turnout/grassroots effort.

In the Silver Lining
Sometimes people run bc they think they’re be good choice for VP...

Good point.
Riding shotgun in this American Utility Sportscar is important role and not a bad cushion to fall back on.

Gabbard/Gillum would be interesting.
I just think Gillum is to far in the Obama Establishment zone to really be his own person. I could be wrong.

Gillum/Beto or Beto/Gillum sounds good on paper ..... :lupe:...

To be honest, he needs to leave Florida. I just don't see a black man winning there these days. :yeshrug:

:dahell: He nearly won.
Then again, something not mentioned is alot of Panhandle residents were displaced by the hurricane. I'm not sure how that impacted things.

What @crazydom said. He needs to build the dem base in Florida into a consistent voting block.

With all these racist CaCs in the panhandle and dumbass republican Cubans in Miami the gop will always have a grip on Florida. If gillum can bring the large cities out, increase the black vote, get more young people in colleges involved in politics and get these people in fukkin Kissimmee to vote consistently he’d have his base on lock. He was only 30,000 votes away from winning you brehs act like he was thrashed

Stay in Florida nikka!!! They let the felons vote. That means you definitely got the next election cause you DEFINITELY won't have the presidency.
