Glory to Michigan
Losing that election definitely hurt his argument. But Ojeda is running, and Beto is considering a run as well. I want a candidate to run that will focus mainly on Black issues even if they do not win. Similar to what Beanie did for Medicare for All. I know Gillum is probably won’t be that candidate.
I'm just commenting on the differences between "running" and running. Most people run to enhance their national profile, stay relevant, and/or get an appointment within the next administration. This is what I'd call "running". Running is self-evident.
Ojeda is "running".
O'Rourke would be running. He's the centrist choice and losing a close election to Ted Cruz in blood red Texas isn't the same as losing in a purple state. I guess he could run for governor in 2022, but I don't think he'd challenge Cornyn since apparently he's like Rob Portman (well liked, lowkey, and formidable).
To me, Gillum also falls into "running" category. I don't think he could be a headliner given his electoral circumstances.
Although Sanders/Gillum 2020 would solve a lot of Sanders' perceived and real weaknesses.
