If you can't beat fake Trump, then how are you going to beat real Trump? Whatever it's a good move to stay relevant and expand your national profile.
Losing that election definitely hurt his argument. But Ojeda is running, and Beto is considering a run as well. I want a candidate to run that will focus mainly on Black issues even if they do not win. Similar to what Beanie did for Medicare for All. I know Gillum is probably won’t be that candidate.

I would love to have another black president but let's be real it's not happening in 2020 this is an emergency we need a Candidate who has the best chance probably Beto or Biden of both of them on the same ticket

Gillum is more of an organizational, operative kind of candidate. If he wants to win on the national stage he needs a lot more time to build up his brand.

Beto is in a similar position to Gillum, but Beto has the speaker/soundbite thing to his advantage. What Gillum got by organizing and networking, Beto got by media exposure which made him much closer to being a household name.

I'm not sure either is the right guy as the head of the ticket, but I see Beto as having more ability to pull weight in a candidacy quickly than Gillum has. Beto could be on the 2020 ticket with Kamala Harris or some other established Senator or Governor like that and would get a lot of positive buzz for the race, while Gillum should be increasing his national exposure and hopefully winning a senate or governor seat in preparation for a 2028 or 2032 run if the presidency is really what he wants to aim for.

All these dudes who got a little national attention need to focus on winning locally instead of crowding the national races with runner ups.
Exactly! Florida needs work and we can’t concede this state to the gop. They’ve practically run it to the ground and if he keeps his name in FL politics in the next few years and makes the right connections he’d kick lil Marco out of politics.

Is there anybody besides Beto you think can beat Trump?
i dont even know if beto can. it's gonna have to be some kind of Bacac Obama candidate :wow:

but who knows, trump has plenty of time to fukk up and screw over a ton of people that would vote for him. or the mueller investigation really does pan out, and whichever dem runs has a fukkin cakewalk

right now, if nothing really changes though? cant call it

The problem is he lost to Trump-lite in Florida, which is a swing state. Beto lost, but he lost by less than 3 points in a ruby red state like Texas. Gillum doesn't have a strong case that he'd make a good candidate in the other swing states. :yeshrug:

America will never elect another black president, at least not for the foreseeable future
