I believe in angels brehs. Last summer my son who was 1 at the time just came down with a sickness called Kawasaki Disease out of nowhere. We were in the hospital for days and it was hard seeing my son like that and I knew I had to be strong. The chaplain comes in and asks if she can pray and we say yeah. She starts praying and the angels were there. There were about five of them. One kneeled down at the hospital bed and put his hands on my son's back. The other 4 came and hugged me and made a circle around all of us. After that I couldn't see them anymore but I knew they were there. Believe it or don't :yeshrug:

Exactly. Some people feel like they know more than other people and get pleasure from proving people wrong. (or the illusion thereof) They like to flaunt their "smarts" or what they feel is irrefutable logic to the masses who are "sleep" "sheep" or "being controlled" to feed their insatiable ego.

The interesting thing about that passage in Exodus is that it's often misquoted. In the Septuagint, the passage really says “Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live.” the Greek word is pharmakos, meaning an herbalist capable of both poisoning and healing. But then if you interpret it in the original Hebrew, M'KHSHEYFAH LO T'CHIYEH, it translates: 'You should not sustain a witch,' meaning-don't get into the habit of supporting the livelihood of the village magician. It's more like: 'don't let some body with a lot of supernatural power bleed your savings dry; let them get a job like everybody else, and perform magic to benefit everyone and in recognition of the sacred gift they possess.' Either way, there’s nothing in there about murdering people who are different from you.

I agree with what you said about idiots burning people at the stake. People do dumb stuff.
