And whats the problem with that? Its their games they have a right to make money off of it.
And they did when they sold the game. Also are you saying that they have a right to all that money? That the person that actually bought the equipment and produced / uploaded the video itself has a right to none of it?

Most game companies look at it like this. We got some guy out there advertising our game by playing it and somebody else is paying them to do it. He's reaching millions of gamers and giving us free positive press and attention. Win win. Nintendo looks at it like this. That's money we could be making. If we have to we'll take it from them.

Well shyt, you're not even smart enough to realize I didn't even say Youtubers should quit doing this, so I'm pretty sure you're not smart enough to realize how dumb these Youtube personalities actually look outside of how much money they allegedly make. :ld:

your exact quote is "if youtube is your sole source of income , you lost " please expand on HOW you are NOT talking about youtube when YOU said YOUTUBE yourself :usure:

if I buy a guitar from Gibson, and go make a hit record with it, do I owe Gibson any money besides what I paid for the guitar?
A guitar is used by musicians to make music...

A video game is used to make? an "angry" review video?

Great analogy...:dahell:

it is a great analogy.. its the same shyt.. the youtuber paid $900 to nintendo to use they shyt just like if you would spend $900 on a guitar to use it.. its the same shyt

Yeah...if this is your only way of making money, you're fukking up putting all your eggs in one basket when Youtube can cancel all that at the drop of a hat.

If you do this alongside an actual job, you're better off because if and when this shyt dries up (at all or just for your channel), you're good.

Lotta these Youtube personalities don't have backup plans and don't want em either. Can't say I feel sorry for them when shyt like this happens

Nintendo isnt most game companies. These youtubers cannot make the content without Nintendos content. They know this. Its their fault if they cant understand what nintendo wants to do with their property. Buying a copy of a game doesnt give you carte blanche to do whatever you want with it,same with music, same with movies.

If youtubers have a problem with it they should make different, original content that isnt using another companies legal property. Its not some grey area, if Nintendo or any other studio doesnt want their games broadcasted then thats their right as a company.

If Youtube is your sole source of income, you lost. I don't give a shyt how much money you're supposedly making unless you're PewDiePie levels of popular.

Soon as Youtube or whoever changes their policy, these motherfukkers make these videos crying like bytches.

Get a traditional 9-5 and do this shyt on the side because it's embarrassing more often than not.

:patrice:

Nah some of these dudes are well established and are actually making a living off of playing and discussing/reviewing video games. IMO, that's a win. How many people are working a 9-5 and hate their job?...counting down the hours til they get off to get on their gaming console. I'm sure a lot of these dudes could get a job in the industry though, weather it be journalism or video editing. They have a damn good resume if they wanted to go that route. If people don't mind literally giving them money for playing games(with donations on their streams) on top of what they're getting from ad money/youtube, more power to them.

Playing video games all day is harder work than my actual job. As I get older I find it hard to play them for more than a few hours a week if that unless I'm binge playing some game I've been waiting a long time to play. People like Darksydephil play upwards of 7 hours a day 5 days a week or so. I couldn't do that.

I'm not saying it's not a lot of work to do, especially with all the editing and sifting through hours of footage to do what they do. I was getting at the fact they're actually doing stuff they're passionate about and getting paid for it. A lot of people working a reg. 9-5 can't say the same.

Trust me, folks really aint trying to be stuck in the house forced to play video games all day. DSP is the perfect example. Dude HAS to play those games on release and rush through them to make room for the next big release. He's always sucked but he's not even enjoying that shyt remotely anymore.

That dream can still be sold though, just look at @itsyoung!! :ld:

And all that youtube money wont mean shyt once your fanbase gets tired of you and the views start to dwindle. Again, just ask DSP. That cac is asking for donations and making premium content after he swore he wouldn't. And this is all with youtube maintaining its current policy, so imagine what's gonna happen if that ever changes.

Ya'll really think it's that simple? :francis:

thats not my dream :wtf: im on my way to owning a club, thats my dream. But top youtubers money is very well documented and advertised and even someone like me who barely uses youtube can make a couple hundred off it.

You seem pretty upset people out here making 10-20x you make by playing video games :ld:
