Schools need to have better, more transparent and stricter cell phone policies.

Can only be used during lunch and recess.

ONE verbal warning for unapproved use, then call a resource officer to escort them out of class if the verbal warning isn’t heeded.

I’m positive every school has a phone policy, including a policy that they are not supposed to be used in class.

The best thing to do is kick them out and send them to the principals office. Two violations should be automatic suspension. These schools are just weak.

Then what happens when there’s outrage because you’ve got kids that can’t graduate because they got kicked out of class too many times.

I graduated high school in 05, I know it’s a very different time in terms of the value of the phones we had to what kids have today, but there’s still no reason to just have a phone out in class.

This is weak minded mentality. This is exactly why as a society we are weak and our kids are outlandish. Too scared of backlash and punishment.

Schools need to develop a zero tolerance policy. Parents would have to be better parents. Kids would have to obey. In the end, we all come out to a better place. There won't be an outrage when you tell the parents that phones need to be kept inside their bookbag.

if the kids are so "good" im sure they don't mind having a dead signal for 40 min while class is in session. im sure they wouldn't mind asking the teacher to use the land line or go to the office to make an "emergency" call

it's gotta be a better way to handle the phone in class issue. somebody should make an app where the data/texts goes out of service during classtime or somehow make the classes a bad service area

Imma go ahead and specify my suggestion.

Phones should be locked up prior to class starting.

Teachers should check to make sure no one has their phones prior to starting class.

If, for whatever reason, someone is caught with a phone, I don't suggest taking it. They should be written up or receive some type of failing grade.

Just give a 0 on all quizzes, tests, class work, projects, homework etc for that day

It isn’t working with new gen because of who is raising them. When I was in middle school/high school (2006-2012), teachers would take the phones and give them back after class or call the parents to come to the school to get it. No one was getting attacked

My way has never been tried though. Schools are mentally weak and allow themselves to get bullied. Everybody is too scared, including you, of punishing kids and the parents.

This is why I think my kids will be going through Private schools, fukk these trash ass public schools.

There's one nice and easy simple way, BAN EM FROM SCHOOL.

Girls today are REALLY fukked up mentally due to needing validation from social media. Phone and SM has become a drug to them.
