This type of behavior seems like a natural evolution from the way many (not all) black artists place whiteness on a pedestal. The way rappers fall over themselves to give credibility to white brands, white fashion, western beauty standards, etc. Whiteness equals high fashion, the best liquor, the best awards shows, etc. You don't see these artists big upping black fashion or anything else black unless it becomes trendy.

So when you associate black with "not good enough" it's not shocking that you'd shyt on your own heritage like this. These people are ashamed of blackness.
