Yup you're right

Which might mean Ant is stuck with this "core" unless they can acquire a geriatric KD or Jrue, or whatever value Randle and his player option is worth
Ant might've screwed himself like young Bron in Cleveland. When a flawed team goes deep it does two things:

1. Convinces people that its not flawed and all you need is a tweak or just more from your star
2. Denies you cheap young talent with potential

When Shai was Ant's age OKC was ass and accumulating the young talent that is either playing (or got flipped for guys playing) a major role in this run. When Ant is Shai's age what's he gonna have? 35 year old Rudy? 33 yr old Randle? They likely arent gonna be able to hang on to the young role guys. Ant mighta been born at the wrong time and drafted to the wrong place.

That said, he has to be better. When the role guys play that well at home with the season basically on the line you gotta find a way to close that deal. Age is no excuse. We have seen numerous ATGs ball at that age in the playoffs.

What's funny is MIN had these same flaws last year that we ripped them for vs DAL.

Geriatric point guard; volatile power forward; dubious offense; too much Rudy, not enough Naz;

12-months later, everyone saying the same thing :dead:

In part bc MIN prioritized budget cuts.

Even funner tho, is through it all MIN still had one of their best 3 point shooting games of the season last night: combos of divencenzo, mcdaniels, the inferior alexander cousin, naz all on the floor... but it will never be enough spacing bc OKC don't give a fukk about their spacing :mjlol:

They gon stand on business in that paint waiting for Ant and Julius no matter how many 3s Shai's cuz hits lol

:dead:

He’s a liability offensively and gets exposed a lot defensively when other teams go to smaller lineups.

He was playing washed up over the hill guys the first two rounds. Now that he’s playing someone with some youth and a pulse it’s giving him problems.

Just my observations though.
Here’s the thing though he automatically makes you a top ten defense every year. Gil probably got the advanced numbers but from the eye test he’s held up okay in iso situations defensively..but the wolves weren’t attacking the boards yesterday.

I’d move Rudy and Randle for whatever I could get especially if it was young talent and picks. They might have some value to fringe contenders.

The T’Wolves might would take a step back for a year or two, but they’d be in better shape in the long run.

You end up being a treadmill franchise getting stuck with old, overpaid, over the hill talent, and it’s always better to move on from a player a year or two too early than a year or two too late.

Cmon man :scust:

These referee's are idiots

You cannot give SGA these popcorn calls

This is the type shyt that will eventually make people hate this kid

This is awful

This is some Vince McMahon shyt

This should be a no call

Why should that have been a no-call when the contact created a wide open shot for Minnesota?

:jbhmm:

The Cavs roster was not as talented or as young as this Wolves roster.
Dillingham and Shannon are rookies right now... they need another dynamic shot creator (which Dillingham was touted to be coming into the league)

They need him to pop and Shannon looks like he can contribute more too. The Wolves are still loaded, don't get it twisted, OKC goes down and an All-Time Team if they don't choke this series away or lose in the Finals.

Yea trying to get to a closeout. Nba twitter worst thing to happen to basketball
Looked like he was getting out to a shooter and trying to close out to me
Ok. It is a close out but SGA initiated that contact with Ant to make it look like he was being impeded when he was clearly not being impeded

The refs are just dumb

But what team is gonna give you anything of value for an aging Rudy? He doesn't even have star power to sell. Then with these aprons teams are gonna be even less willing to take expensive risks.

I agree that they might have to take a step back in the short term. But it comes back to how?

I gotta anticipate that Dillingham is a factor next season. Kinda wild they traded up for a player that they couldn't find minutes for with Conley on the downturn of his career.
