AD probably signs for 3 years with the opt out after 2 i'm assuming to line up with Bron being a free agent again. Cause if Bron has fallen off by then or they haven't gotten another premier player i could easily see him bouncing at that point.

As if LA will struggle to get players.

First everybody said AD was leaving after this season since the team is trash and Bron is old, now we're sure he's just going to keep signing +1 deals forever.

He already has one ring, I'm sure he'd like to get paid one of those super maxes one day too. Nobody can pay him more than the Lakers, hate it or love it no other team attracts players like the Lakers, and he went to the Lakers partly to get Ruffles deals and off court shyt like that. If he leaves LA at all it'll be when he's past his prime.

It wasn't long ago that no superstar was playing for the Lakers though bruh. And if Bron slows down considerably without another wing player to pair up with AD are you that confident in either AD staying or being enough to win rings alone. Not to mention he will be knocking on 30 at that point too as much as we like to tout that he's "only" 27 without failing to mention the years he had been in the league and the injuries he has suffered. And wouldn't him signing a short deal this offseason set him up for the big payday after the ten year thing kicks in?

He will be alright top players don't really start to break down until about 33.

Dame, Jimmy,Harden,PG13,Kemba, Westbrook are still all balling in the early 30s. Hell Kawhi is 29.

Jim Buss ain't running the Lakers anymore and if Clippers don't trade for PG, Kawhi wins his 3rd ring in a Lakers uniform. Pelinka without Magic showed he has knowledge of the cap and putting teams together, or maybe Klutch built the team. Either way, Lakers have always been and will always be a free agent destination. The question was the front office after Jerry Buss died, these issues are clearly resolved.

LeBron has one guaranteed year left on his contract, their plan all along is to walk into 2021 with zero contracts on their book. Which is why AD will opt out next offseason too. So even if LeBron does slow down they have all the money in the world to rebuild around whatever's left of him and Davis.

I'm mainly talking about him bouncing at any point before his prime's done, him signing these short deals is for the Lakers to have flexibility. It isn't because he's unsure of the future, he's where he wants to be and his management want him to be. Lakers and Klutch are basically married, all they needed was a ring to tie the knot, now they've got one.

I can Dipo going to the Lakers and taking the gamble that he can get healthy again. I don’t get the move for Indy though as they could more than Kuzma/DG for Dipo. Unless LA is throwing a late first into the deal as well.

Dipo would be a no for me personally.....

Dont trust his health to stay up....I suspect his leg problems will be chronic from now on.

Which means counting on him to be ready and available night to night in the playoffs is sketchy. fukk it even regular season.

Gonna have to load manage Bron too as well.....

The best thing (other than the championship obviously) for the Lakers this year has been the team connection.

So many players on that roster have bounced around and seeing them fit in so well with the Lakers has them super attractive for FAs and potential suitors. Rondo, Keef etc. have spoken so well.

Plus, that 3rd star role is completely open for someone to come in. Whilst not a superstar, a player one level below that will come in and know they can grab that spot so easily with Bron and AD dominating the attention, and grab their peace of the pie.

Bron and AD relationship has made the Lakers super attractive to people.

Not if they don’t retool around them. I highly doubt they could win the finals again next year with the same core.

This

and there would have to be major fukk ups in the East (like the Bucks) and who knows what pieces go where in the off season. Can’t see the draft being a big factor but the Lakers won’t have a hard time dealing with the West even with the GSW boys healthy.
