Just thinking about the kind of scenario America faces if shyt does happen to go down is mind boggling. No prescription drugs being available alone will be a disaster to those that need them. The best thing to do from the research I've been doing is to keep light and carry Only the essentials. Looting is for the stupid who don't realize all those consumer goods they're stealing won't be worth shyt in a couple of days.

A backpack full of the necessities is the way to go as someone mentioned earlier in the thread. I live in New York City smack dab in the worst place to be if shyt goes down. Traveling westward and northward is what will allow me to survive.

shyt I'm content with hunting deer and living in the mountains :win:

not a 'doomsday prepper' but i enjoy the show

i hoard certain items just in case things pop off. i live in south los angeles and i recognize we're about 2 weeks of no power/food from becoming cannibals. i keep 200 gallons of filtered water, have a RO system. have some seeds for fruits and veggies, and about 6 months worth of dried meals. also have a stage 5 generator with 10 gallons of gas in the garage.

no guns though

them shyts is up for grabs when it pops off:merchant:

My Prepping/DIY/Survialist Skills are.................. well...... yeah... :snoop:

To all you densely populated folks experiencing this "REAL SHIIT" in the Tri-State..... or regardless of where you live......this thread should not be overlooked.....

We (adult men and women) have become so domesticated we can't do for ourselves, when shiit hits the fan like Sandy or past and future disasters. So we're out here wondering why we don't have a basic flashlight and batteries, or some canned food, or a water filter available, or HAM radio skills, etc..........

:lolbron: and calling preppers kooks is the most ironic shiit ever....they sitting back  and you or me out there  for scraps.

Powerful Thread..

Hmm, how about after everyone's prepped we start working together to make sure we won't have to use our emergency supplies. Building redundancies into systems we know might fail. Or setting up extreme support networks for different situations. Katrina and Sandy show us how underprepared we always are and it's a bit ridiculous.

Hurricane sandy
I msde this thread before Sandy and how ironic Sandy came, however I was prepared. I had 4 containers of gasoline in the garage. I had power so no need for the generator. I couldnt imagine Newark after 1 week of no power or water. During Sandy shyt was approaching panic for some and I would hope nikkas take prepping serious because the government will not take care of you

Newark was a mess , just imagine if regular gas stations were nuts imagine how crazy they was in the hood.I knew people who waiting up to 8 hours for gas. Dudes was pulling guns out on ppl and everything. Most bodegas doubled there prices on the little bit of things they had left over. No power so it was cash only everything. Only thing that kinda stopped from shyt being full retard was the fact it all went down in October

:damn: imagine them savages middle of july no power , no food, no water & very little police presences.

:wow: i gave dudes the blueprint how to prep in the ATL snowstorm thread, they aint gonna listen tho

here was my post from the ATL snow storm there , hopefully some here will find it useful

You know what at first i thought this was funny but i just saw on CNN they said kids was stuck on the highway in school buses over night NO FOOD ,WATER OR BATHROOMs. shyt is sad, real talk.

but honestly i hope Katrina,Sandy and this ATL snow storm teaches people (blacks and browns am looking at you ) DON'T DEPEND ON THE GOVERNMENT TO HAVE YOUR BACK in anyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy type of situation. With these type of deals ALWAYS PREPARE FOR THE WORSE.

I remember right before sandy i went out and bought two 10 gallons plastic barrels , bunch of flashlights , a box of 100 candles, lighters etc etc, filled both our cars with gas. Everyone i knew laughed at me and said i was tripping it was just a hurricane hitting south jersey and am in north jersey hours away. Sure enough when the power went out. I was the only one with enough candles, battery's, flashlights and drinkable water for days.

For future reference here is what i typically do whenever i hear about any crazy type of weather heading my way ( i prep at least day before)

1. watch the news and be update to as when its going to hit, as rule of thumb i have learned to adjust timing, if they say its going to snow at 7pm expect snow at 5pm etc, if they say its going to snow 4 inches prepare for 8 in etc , but be on top of whats happening, you got expensive ass cable and cellphones for a reason other than twitter and instagram

2. Have CASH ON HAND, at least $200 cash , if power goes out = ATM machines/card swippers don't work , if u need to buy goods your shyt out luck

3. if you have cars fill them up with gas, don't go by "i have enough gas" fill them up with gas, all the cars, your car your wife's car, your baby mommas car. You don't want to be stuck on the highway or somewhere else and run out of gas / gas stations have 5 hour lines

4. WATER WATER WATER, you can use water to drink, cook and clean. 3 of the most important things in your life, but u so used to opening a faucet or a bottle. Like i said earlier go to the dollar store/home depot and buy your self a couple 10-20 gallon plastic buckets. Fill them up with water and just leave them there. Also 3-5 cases of bottled water, Obviously the large the family the more you will need.

5. Flashlights, lighters, matches and candles. second most important set of things you can have, if only for that fact that being in the dark is depressing and dangerous. I keep ONE FLASHLIGHT PER ROOM , that's every room, bathroom and basement included. In this same rooms i keep a pack of battery that would fit these flashlights, next up is candles and lighters. Lights go out u light a candle per room. Matches and lighters can also be used to heat stuff up or start up a gas oven

6. EXTRA FOOD, notice i said extra cause am assuming also unless your a broke college student you live in home where u keep at least 3 days worth of food. This extra food that buy needs to be stuff like canned food that will last well into and after said disaster. Don't buy break, milk or stuff that will spoil unless u planning on eat that stuff first.

*EXTRAS*
- pet food
- baby food
- extra container with gas
- solar,hand powered radio & or flashlight
- jump starter kit for your car, not jumping cables, a actual kit to jump your car
- first aid kit/ extra meds for headaches, stomach aches, fever

One last thing before i end this rant, its crazy to me to see so many people laughing at whats going on in ATL which is a moslty black city, but at the same time dudes on here spend all day making thread talking about "fuk cacs" "we need to do better "how can we better ourselves" but will be the first ones to crack on some people the same color as them in trouble.

You know what white folks do soon as shyt like this goes down? They organize themselves. Food drives, supply drives etc etc ( dont believe peep the white boy on the ATV pic posted in this same thread)
