Where did your friend's get thier mba? :patrice:

Are they working at the big 4? (Deloitte et al.) I

They got MBAs at top-15 programs. And yeah, they work for the Big 4

Stupid money, breh.

And a lot more exit options.

At 45, after working as a management consultant, they can simply transition back into corporate America, search fund, etc.

Most engineers at 45 are bouncing from contract to contract.

Your schooling breh, you just made me google the term "search fund" :pachaha:

And you're right, ageism a motherfukker in engineering. I still think it's possible to survive with govt and govt contractors but there will be a lot of hiring managers that will call at your current salary when you tell them you make over 150k

I see the writing on the wall and I'm actually about to transition over from designing embedded systems to a CTO role for a small company if the money is right. I may crash and burn in 2017 but it's a chance worth taking.

I think an mba would definitely help me navigate the business side but unfortunately I don't have 2 years to spare at the moment

how did you get into to teacher? especially high school?

A friend of mine taught here for a couple of years and exceled. Another teacher quit after 2 months and left the students with a substitute for over a month. Since it's math, a dired need, they gave me a emergency certification to bring me in.

Now I have a year to decide if I want to continue ( get my certification while teaching ). I did have to take the cbest test , which is easy af, & get a background check.

Any engineering or hard science degree holder is eligible to take the patent agent exam. Patent agents are basically patent attorneys without the law degree. I am studying for the exam now...plan on taking it this summer.
Breh , Job postings are constantly popping up, so I read up.

Have you visited or spoke with a law firm ? Do you need a co sign etc ? Also , what method are you using to study ?

My sister is studying for the real bar exam , I might just have to show her out. :lolbron:

Love
Currently in school for computer/electrical engineering, fearing the upcoming math courses :mjcry:
This is what i hate about a lot of young black kids these days. Why the fukk do you clowns fear math?:what:
Just walk into that class and look around at the clowns in there. and say to yourself "All these f@ggots cant be better than me. If they can do it so can I"

That's what got me through Calculus I, Calculus II and Differential equations and Physics when i was in school for engineering. :manny:

like others have said, DOD w/ Secret Clearance and Systems Engineering is where the guaranteed 100K is with any bachelors engineering degree (ME, CE, EE). I graduated from A&T with an EE degree but i haven't touched a circuit since I left. These Defense contractors (LM, Raytheon, Northrop) really need Systems Engineers to for most of the work that is available and what I realized when I got hired by one was they only cared that you graduated with engineering degree no matter what it was because since i was able to get thru that curriculum, taking on Systems Engineering would be a breeze. Also with a Republican administration coming in, Defense always gets a boost because Republicans love building new to Defense toys that we don't need. And once you get that Secret Clearance and keep it active, you can move around pretty easily in the DOD world. And it's easy to get in a room with these Defense Contractors because they send an army of recruiters to all the big career fairs (NSBE, BEYA, etc).
