It's competitive mainly because most hr departments are small. I work at a hospital in Toronto and the HR department is like ten people.

And once ppl get in they don't leave, it's a great field because even if. A place goes bankrupt the last department to go is he :heh:

I'm currently taking a post-grad HR program at a local college in toronto (Seneca).

Any advice on the profession and means of gaining an advantage over other graduates is greatly appreciated.

You a generalist? Comp guy? Resident Casanova?

What are they listed as breh, so I can search for them, Is it possible to try to get into payroll without experience maybe as a payroll assistant ....also I haven't graduated yet got a semester left for abit of context
breh that's good! look for HR Co-op positions or intern positions online!

i learned that Human resources information systems analytics and compensation specialists get paid out the ass sooo i'm tryna master those courses.

i still feel like starting my own staffing agency, i'm a breh and still feel like we're better off staring our own business.
I've thought about this as well, what city are you in?

You either gotta go thru the generalist route and move laterally or start career w a comp consulting firm. Only ways I've seen it done.

I haven't seen an entry level comp job in forever, software replaced that role years ago
