Jesus Loves you...Your Cat doesn't. {#Dogset}
Dogs aren't too picky about being left in a spot for too long from my experience.
Every dog I've had (And I've had several) get acclimated to the situation and adapt surprisingly well once they realize that this is what's going to be in the cards for them.
Once they have food and water and know for a FACT that you're coming home everyday, they cope and look to lavish you with attention the minute the key starts turning in the lock.
The last full breed Rottie I had used to make a statement by jumping on me from the couch at the door and knocking me down whenever I came in and I had to spend at least an hour putting him in chokeholds and scratching his chin, God rest his silly soul .
The most you might have to deal with is where he does his/her business if you don't house break him and according to the type of dog, you can prolly keep him confined to a section by a gate/playpen until you reach home.
Protip, if you're having a hard time working your dog into a schedule, cop some carpet strips for them to shyt/piss on, cause for the life of me, Dogs WILL seek out carpets to do their business.
Current Rottie puppy I've got would bypass everything and literally push himself into a corner where I've a thin strip of carpet left from when I hard carpet (Tore it out after the Hurricanes fukked my room up and put down tile) and would so how business there.
What kind of doggo are you looking to cop?
