What magic can you perform without a physical object to facilitate your wonders?

Besides being logical, there are plenty of historical anecdotes to support that idea, two of the most rudimentary and astonishing examples of which are:That technology can be perceived as magic to the uninitiated

And that is the point......
In the world we live in if you were to do that then because I am uninitiated I would think "oh wow magic"...but you just imagined a scenario that you yourself don't have any fundamental mechanics of.....so you cant even describe how it could work.....

So if I were to take the concept of how a TV works and go back 500 years and describe it...it would be perceived as magic even though I gave the fundamentals of the materials needed to achieve a television...
