Anybody else’s parents REFUSE to learn technology?

Even though my Mom has a Samsung phablet that she regularly uses everyday, she doesn't know how to do basic shyt like looking up local addresses/phone numbers/businesses/etc. by Googling that shyt.

I created a lyft account for her because she needed a lyft ride to some event a few months ago & she couldn't be bothered to learn how to use the app or even look at the app on her phone. So I had to order the lyft ride on my own account for her lyft ride back home.

Whenever I look through my mom's phone she has a ton of junk apps installed that I end up uninstalling & later she'll reinstall all of the them. But she can't figure out how to Google something.

My mother is like this. She just refuses to learn even basic shyt. And she has no excuse because we've had computers and internet access in our house for the past 20 years. My father, on the other hand, is more tech savvy than me.

My mom just called me panicked, because the library is closed, and AARP isn’t doing taxes, and HR Block is closed.

I told her to do them online.

I said they guide you through everything, and you just plug the numbers in. They don’t want to do it, and want me to help. They won’t even ATTEMPT! They even have tax professionals available for questions. She and my stepdad are at home like babies, as usual. They’re only 62!

And the thing that really pisses me off is they live closer to my sister, and she and her husband could be doing this stuff! I don’t mind helping them out, but the fact they don’t even TRY is ridiculous. They don’t even have bank apps on their phones, and still use the bank to deposit checks.

Their keychains: full of store cards instead of using apps.

I’m going to go there and do it. They did give me this 3 bedroom home for free when they were excited about moving to the 55 plus development.

And no, they are not disabled, and are in perfect health.
