I used the wrong term,we were TOLD it was CLASSIC

it is a classic. there's albums that sold more initially the same year that aren't talked about like that like da brat's fake snoop dogg album. Illmatic's slow burn to platinum and Nas being able to do a 20 year aniversy tour shows it's "classic"-ness. real classic usually don't move super units.

Point out what i said that was wrong

Wrong, west coast kept dominating and nas wasnt a major factor till IWW. RTD brought NY back

1. I never said the west stopped dominating, I said it laid the foundation for the east to surge back.
2. I said Nas laid the framework with Illmatic for the East. Check the release dates on both.

You yoga pants wearing fakkit, you seem flustered. Why don't you go bike ride to the corner store, get an bottle of water and leave this thread.

what do you mean by 'fly shyt?' examples from IWW as compared to Illmatic would be nice
the whole street dreams, the message ,come on ...those are totally different from anything on ill....the message had the illmatic sample i know but he was rapping some fly shyt on there

Na
i mean its only hyped up by Internet nerds but no one bumps that shyt it real life. Nothing stands out about that album like a reasonable doubt, not to mention its filled with basic ass rhymes (some that don't make sense) whereas reasonable doubt is filled with metaphors, double meanings, and just overall vibes better.
I agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Well... you must be young as hell because I had to discover that shyt by myself with the radio and a few Internet links like 16, 17 years ago. Those albums weren't hyped like that until the internet got into full swing. So yeah, I see what you're saying.

It's kinda crazy how sales don't determine how classic an album is, ain't it?

But here we are talking about those bum ass albums (RD and illmatic) 20+ years later while ignoring Creepin on da come up which sold better than both combined.

I bet all of the posters on this site suffer from east coast bias.

kinda like white supremacy, right?
All? naw Alot ,yes
