I used to be nearsighted... I went in and got LASIK last April and I have 20/15 vision now. It's an amazing feeling not having to wear glasses or contacts any more. The only small side effects are that I have to wear shades outside pretty much all the time (more reason to wear Ray-Bans :manny:) and a bit of glare from lights at night.

I went and scheduled a free consultation to see if I was a candidate for the surgery, and once I got the go they were able to do it like 2 weeks later. Most places do that first appointment free. The surgery had price ranges from $2,000 - $3700 depending on the options. I chose the most expensive. I also got approved for a 2 year interest free loan from CareCredit.

The surgery itself was pretty weird but it was very quick, like 12 seconds each eye. That night afterwards was pretty rough, not gonna lie lol... But once I slept it off I was seeing better tafter about 6 hours, and 20/15 the next day! (I paid for the high end surgery with way quicker recovery time tho.)

Ask me anything.

I see everything breh :ahh: the world is beautiful, and it feels like this is the way we were meant to be lol. Just wake up and get to moving without squinting to see the clock, reaching around trying to find my glasses, no more headaches from contacts, etc lol

Yeah man... At least the laser portion... First they put a numbing drop in the first eye, had some machine hold my eyelids open, then a laser created a thin flap for them to fold back, then a second laser goes to town on your eyes while you smell it smoking :merchant:... Then they fold the flap back and apply some drops

Wash, rinse repeat on the second...

You can still see everything while they're doing it LOL.... Afterwards your vision gets blurry and once those numbing drops wear off :wow:... When they say go sleep it off, there really is no other option because it's a struggle to keep your eyes open.

Hopefully that doesn't scare anyone off, because it was only for a couple hours, but I think the staff kinda sugar coated that immediate recovery.

I want the surgery myself. My wife was like if I'm gonna get a motorcycle I'm either gonna get glasses or have the lasik surgery. One of my co-workers got it done like 10 or 12 years ago. She said at the time she got her eyes checked and she had 20/15 vision. She told me 6 months ago that she recently got her eyes checked her vision is 20/20, but like I said this was from 10 or 12 years ago.

I been wearing contacts since I was 14 so I been seriously considering now.

I'm still a little skeptical though. I have a few friends who had it and say it was the best thing they every done and had no problems.

But I alos know people who have had it done and in about a year they were wearing glasses again.

All I know is if you gonna go cheap with something, this ISN'T the thing to do it with

Like I said, most places will do the consultation free, so I highly advice anyone interested to do a little research on the company/surgeon and then schedule a consultation to see what your options are, payment plans, etc...Some insurances may even cover it.. Even if it was over $5000 I would still do it.

It was the best purchase I ever made by far
