Break it down...which states? and what were the pros/cons?
I'm originally from ct. So tri state area. Close proximity to NYC and new jersey. Not far from Boston either. East coast so a straight shot to lots of places.
4 seasons. Beautiful falls. Crazy winters lots to do.ethnically varied but plenty of black people and neighborhoods.great food.
(I'm not from the rich part of ct btw)
Cons - cost of living is crazy
Winters are horrible (snow is only pretty on christmas )
Got married moved to va
Hampton roads.
Friendly people, easy to be from out of town and make friends, pretty good job market, housing prices okay. Weather mostly okay. Lots of concerts and things come through. Beaches, loads of em. Plenty of black people and neighborhoods.
Negs, traffic sucks ass. Bridges and tunnels to get any place.
The worst drivers ever. Tropical storms and norfolk is below or at sea level so lots of flooding. Every damn thing shuts down at 2 or 3 the latest really.
Moved to Houston last year
Very friendly people. Lots and lots to do really something for everyone.
You're never too far from anything that you might want or need.
Housing prices are amazing here. Job market pretty good although down some now with the price of oil dropping. Nice weather, no harsh winters.plenty of black people.
Cons- traffic is obscene here. Just obscene.
When it gets too hot in the summer, like you can't breathe, still better than 11 inches of snow. Not being bilingual - specifically Spanish and English can hamper you for some work opportunities here.
