Jordan Speith +2200 1 unit win

Kevin Na +6600 0.5 units each way

Bryson Dechambeau +1200 1 unit win

Patrick Cantlay +1400 1 unit win

Cam Smith +2200 1 unit win

Great start. Cam Smith leading at 8 under par. I backed him in play for first round leader at +3000. I backed everyone I mentioned and Cantlay came close to matching him finishing 7 under and just missing a birdie putt on the 18th. So we have Cam Smith who is leading, Patty Ice T2 , Kevin Na T5 at -6, Morikawa T8 at -5, Bryson T13 at -4 and Speith isn't completely out of it yet.

Jon Rahm is only one back so obviously a huge threat. Koepka is playing better than I expected too and Sungae Im isn't showing any rust after his first time off in years. Justin Thomas seems a long way off.

Cam Smith is on fire! 3 shot lead heading into the weekend. He bogied the first 2 holes too and bounced back to shoot -9 matching the 36 hole record of -17 set by Ernie Els in 2003. Rahm is just behind him though which is a big worry. Daniel Berger is tied 2nd with Rahm and Cantlay is 4 shots back. Kevin Na is tied 7th , 6 shots back and in a great place to potentially land some place money. I think the winner will come from one of the top 4 which would give us in theory a 50% chance of winning. However Jon Rahm is justifying his world number 1 ranking so I'd say our chances are a little lower than that.

Cam Smith gets it done to secure 15.5 units profit. Needed that to be honest. He did it in style too going head to head with World Number 1 Jon Rahm and holding him off for 36 holes. Ice cool. I was sure Rahm was gonna steal it but Cam Smith matched him all the way.

Patrick Cantlay finished solo 4th, Morikawa T5, Kevin Na finished T13 with -21 which would win almost any other week. The rest were way off. A bit worried about Bryson Dechambeau as his putting looked off. This was the first event that green reading books have been banned and I wonder if that's affecting him more than others. Something to keep an eye on.
