Legit situation, but everything between Bret and Shawn remains the trillest work.

When Breh said that post Mania 12 match shyt was all a work, I don't believe anything anymore :wow:

I just wanna add, a lot of people say "It couldn't have been worked because Bret drew the short stick of everybody involved."

But the shyt WCW pulled on him, especially the stroke (obviously) were independent of the screwjob.

It could've been a case of Vince trying to predict what WCW'd do and not realizing they'd be stupid :manny: it wouldn't be the first or last time a promoter was thrown a curveball

Where the hood Where the hood Where the hood at
What the WWF should do now, is start a kayfabe angle where Bret tells the Universe that the MSJ was indeed a work, and he was indeed a mole and he accomplished his mission in destroying WCW. Vince would come out with him and vouch, and the 2 would laugh at WCW, and their masterwork which did it in. Then you hear the Wolfpack howl, and Big Sexy comes out, furious because he worked hard to keep WCW afloat, only for Bret to be destroying it from the inside. And this leads to a Nash/Booker vs Vince/Bret feud.

Yeah but whats the finish?

It'll be like the typical angle involving Nash: no resolution and it leaves everyone unsatisfied. :sadcam:

It'd be an awkward angle anyway, since WCW can never be babyface in front of the WWF fans. So we'd have heel Nash/Booker mad because they were screwed by Vince/Bret. But the heels are the ones who are supposed to do the screwing :manny:

But this angle would be worth it alone just for Booker's reaction when Vince and Bret tell him that the MSJ was all a work...

"Tell me, you did not just say that!"

Brehs im really starting to think this shyt was a work myself.

Hear me out....

WWE needed something big to compete with the red hot "nWo storyline" and Bret being the ultra talented old school storyteller he was went into action for a giant eleborate angle.

Bret single handily molded the "Stone Cold" character for a year from 96-97 so i wouldnt put it pass him to have come up with an angle to give back to his "father figure" Vince McMahon before he walked away that he thought would be a blueprint for the "Attitude Era" that was on the rise.

Bret knew the impact he had on Canadian fans and old traditional fans, he knew this would cause a huge uproar yet a big risk.

However, I do believe he didnt want to lose to HBK in Canada (their hatred was real) but i think thats why Bret Hart put over Austin so much for a year. He molded Austin to be the "next guy" and had faith Austin would dethrone HBK in the long run with his new found popularity. Bret knew he was leaving WWF in good hands after his departure.

I think the reason Bret was so bitter for years is because he came up with hidden "going away angle" for WWE but watched from the sidelines as WCW was misusing him and his "Screwjob" idea propelled WWF right past WCW. Its like someone stealing your idea and getting rich off it (Facebook creator)
