The opposite actually....

I've been undergoing a minimalist transformation the past 2 years, and I've started a blueprint for a compact home or tiny home. I'm looking at properties with lake or mountain views. I'm trying to have a full 360 xl deck with a lot windows.

What style you like as far as the minimalist interior goes? Pics/Vid examples?

$400,000 barely gets you started in what way? What area do you live in where you gotta spend $500,000 to build a house?

My dream house won't have as many finishes as your typical house. I'd even go as far as using recycled material.

That's a fair point. I have no clue where you live. My bad. I live a little north of Toronto. You have to own the land outright before the bank will even talk to you about a construction mortgage. An acre will cost you anywhere from 100-300 and you need that in cash. Then you're looking at 200 - 250 a sq ft for builder grade (not good) finishes and 300-400 sq ft for high end finished.

Most of those areas will be cac areas. African Americans tend to not live near lakes or mountains, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah Toronto is crazy. Here in America $400,000 can get you a lot depending on where you live.

Semi rural. I don't mind a cac in controlled numbers. I dont like crowded areas period tho. I need water and trees for my sanity. I need quiet for my sanity. I'm building a space for my headspace.

It was cool building a house, don't get me wrong. It took about a year from start to finish and we have our dream home. Obviously it went way over budget but that's how it goes. Next, I have to deal with landscaping and finishing the basement but those are going to have to wait until I get my money back up because the build cleaned me out.
