I agree with this thread except Ghostbusters game felt like a dedicated throwback to old school gaming. Loved that shyt

I used to be a huge ass gamer, playing all types of shyt.
When the ps1, dreamcast, and ps2 era, I remember everyone had one of those CD holders dat came with like 60 plastic pounches dat u zip up, and damn near all of them would be full up with games.
Now a nikka only played like 2 or 3 games in the past 2 years
Video games just aint fun like they used to be, not cuz im getting older(im only 18) but cuz they focus too much on bullshyt. Why df do we need 10 different generic ass FPS
Why does every game have to be super realistic? Why does EVERY single game need to have the best graphics in the world?
I may be in the minority here, but I think that depending on the type of game, when you have too good graphics, it actually makes the game less fun.
What happen to games like
Crazy Taxi
Def Jam
Vice City
San Andreas
NBA Ballers
etc..?
It seems like Ipod and Droid app games tend to have more of that fun video game feel, than actually video games

battle block is shyt

I play mostly sports games, and NCAA Football and Madden ain't really been as fun on 360/PS3 as they were on PS2/Xbox. Fun shyt, but like @mlk17 said, maybe I just haven't come across the right game yet.

This is the exact reason I sold my 360 and PS3, and stopped gaming like I used to
2k is holding it down but I cant buy a system with no good football sims

on steam i have...
bastion
castle crashers
blood dragon
geometry wars
hotline miami
jamestown
la-mulana
left 4 dead 2
magical drop v
portal 2
super meat boy
they are all current gen games and provide the kind of fun this thread is about. these games are out there, you just have to look beyond tv commercials and the front page of IGN to find them.

Man, NCAA Football was so realistic on PS2, a real football simulation. Teams could be put on probation, you had to suspend your players when they get in trouble, had FCS teams. Madden superstar mode, you had your own crib, basically you start from a loft to a mansion. Just so much I miss about it

basically, you can download games, connect with friends, i think you can even put your save data in the cloud, but i dont use that. it's great. they have sales frequently
school me on steam...its a cloud service for pc gaming right?
many old games were not as long as modern games either. back when levels mattered, there would often be less than ten levels in a game. the fun would be in getting high scores or finishing levels with the fastest times. now add achievements to this and you end up with quite a good amount of replay value for the low prices these games cost. retro games used to be expensive as hell for the amount of game you got.i've played most of these and none of em are "full length" imo

 so back to my point
so back to my pointNi No Kuni is legit one of the only "game-y" video games that's come out in the past few years
of course it took a company like Studio Ghibli to put it out tho, it's a sad day when a company known for movies/cartoons has more nuts than actual gaming companies
and it takes more than 15 hours to beat

I need to finish portal 2
