Anyone else remember when video games were actually fun?

I actually agree I can't play half this shyt nowadays but I'm not really a gamer like that. My PS3 has collected dust to tell you the truth. The only thing I was feeling over the past few years was the God Of War series but even that got old. Hell I went back and got that Sega Collection with Streets of Rage 1-3, Sonic, Ristar, Altered Beast, Shinobi 3 and had the most fun I've had since forever. Tell you the truth I play PunchQuest on my Ipad more than anything else.

Just looked that up. Had that game back in the day for the the genesis. Good Look:salute:

Its true, all this "mature, realistic" shyt took out the imagination and the fun out of games. Just because the average gamer is 32 years old doesn't mean that 90% of the profitable games must be the stereotypical GTA/ COD/GoW/ Halo nonsense that took over this gen. The likes of Mario and Sonic (yes, he is making good games again) are the first, and last, platformers in the market that people recognize. We need games that challenge our imagination and our minds, mainly single player. Less guns, more creativity.
Agree with the bolded, but agree with this

There's plenty of games still for your simple ass to enjoy. And plenty of good platformers still. Most of them are just arcade or Nintendo games. Look around breh.

Breh games are still fun...they've just matured. :ehh:

I suppose the most of us want a balance of maturity and creativity. There are games that are breaking that mold, but i guess the market is to saturated with generic shooters and the like for others to find the games they;re looking for.

Plenty of good games out there. Anyone co-signing this thread isn't looking very hard and just isn't into gaming anymore. :yeshrug:

Stop lying to yourself breh...back then there was mediocrity, everyone trying to clone mario and the like.

We have more variety than ever before :whoo:

Nah. They really removed the fun factor. Too many buttons and other unnecessary bullshyt. Complexity isn't always better. You shouldn't need to press 4 buttons for a simple move. If it's some super move okay, but a simple speed burst?

some of the most fun I've had with gaming is going back on the NES and playing classics like double dragon 2. Kneeing cats across the screen is where it's at. Something about the simplicity makes those games a ton of fun to play. Double Dragon 1 was a lot of fun too.

Not every game is like that. You guys just aren't looking.

Go DL Guacamelee off PSN and get back to me.
