You're really wondering why we hold onto 9/11 more than the other events? It was only 14 years ago, contrary to what you said that is not a long time by any means. It's still fresh in every adult's mind and was a complete turning point of life in America. Our country has never been the same since and never will be. The quality of life has been on a steady decline since that time period, and while we may have already been on that path, this event will always be remembered as the catalyst for that.

As for the other events, Pearl Harbor was in 1941 and is still remembered by everyone that lived through it, and has been and will be taught to every man, woman, and child that's been born since then. The Tulsa riots were in 1921 and Rosewood was 1923. I completely agree they should get much more exposure than they do, but they come from an even more shameful racist era of American history, and subsequently and sadly were largely ignored or glossed over at the time, plus they weren't attacks from foreign nations. Also not downplaying any of it, but from Wikipedia, "The official count of the dead by the Oklahoma Department of Vital Statistics was 39, but other estimates of black fatalities vary from 55 to about 300", concerning the Tulsa riots; and for the Rosewood massacre, "An official report claims six blacks killed along with two whites. Other accounts suggest a larger total", and "In 1994...the Florida Legislature passed the Rosewood Bill which entitled the nine survivors to $150,000 dollars each in compensation". I know $150,000 doesn't even compare to the lives lost and the overall horrific nature of the racism and hatred on display in these crimes, but at least there was some kind of silver lining there. Again still horrible disgusting events, but neither is comparable to 9/11 in scale.
lol, foh. It started long before that.

Sorry breh, but 9/11 legitimately changed the course of all of our lives dramatically. I am however annoyed by some of the posts on social media.. like this dude right here:

:what:

How the fukk do you nikkas look at an event where a bunch of Muslims indiscriminately killed thousands of Americans of different races INCLUDING blacks (I believe the estimate was over 200 black people who died), and still start on some "b-but what about black people and slavery" shyt?

That shyt is an insult to those black victims and their families.......:snoop:

Nobody's saying you have to cry with cacs about it....but this "what about slavery"/"They should get over it like they be telling us" whining is just a dumb comparison. Save that shyt for when someone bytches about the Holocaust or something

let's be honest, most of america didn't really care about the black people that died on 9/11. just the white people.

i remember parents pulling thier kids left and right outta school the day it happened. people really thought it was the end.

what a horrible day. RIP to all the victims.

I was 24 and it was my second day on the job as an Army civilian. I remember the day before some of the soldiers were talking about college and using their benefit to go for free.

The next morning they were all worried that they was going to war. And most of those dudes did ended up getting deployed. All I could do was look at them like :manny:, you signed up.

The NFL didn't have to cancel the football games though.
