I’m 40 lolYour Achilles will be more resilient after it heals. Playing bball you may have tight calf muscles. Rolling them out helps a lot. I wouldn't stop playing bball thoug..injuries happen
How old are youTore mine and got the operation.
Ran a 5k 3 months later. Was able to play basketball 9 months later. 12 months I was running and jumping at 100% with 0 fear (which is the biggest issue honestly).
I would definitely get the surgery. Even if it 'heals' using the nonsurgical method, your odds of reinjuring yourself go up exponentially.

I’m thinking this will take forever to heal

After surgery is was about 4-5 months I think. It was a long time ago so I could be wrong. Make sure you do everything they tell you in physical therapyHow long before you started walking on your own
I tore mine playing. I Had broken my nose, fractured my wrist, broken two fingers. Figured the torn Achilles was the universe trying to tell me its time to hang it up permanentlyI don’t like seeing post like this. I’m 37 and I’ve started back hooping. I’ve never had a major injury.
